Broccoli Bacon Salad

My Broccoli Bacon Salad recipe is a time tested family favorite with only 5 ingredients. We tend to think of it during the summer months but it’s a great dish anytime of the year.

Everyone should have an easy Broccoli Salad  recipe in their home cooking recipe collection! The only thing actually cooked in this recipe is the bacon and let’s get real, we could actually use those bacon bits in a jar if we were in a pinch! There is something quite yummy about fresh broccoli paired with crisp bacon though.

Ingredients for Broccoli Bacon Salad

Crisp bacon, Raisins, Pecans, Fresh Broccoli and chopped Onions are my favorite ingredients for Broccoli Bacon Salad. I sometimes use red onions and may not use pecans if I don’t have them on hand.

A fun way to serve Broccoli Bacon Salad for a summer soiree is in a mug with a summer motif.

You could also use wide mouth small Mason jars

Because the bright green broccoli makes a pretty dish, always serve it in a glass bowl

Make your salad several hours in advance and refrigerate to allow the flavors to marinade.

5 easy to prepare ingredients! I like easy, don’t you!

  • Broccoli
  • Bacon
  • Raisins
  • Chopped Pecans
  • Onions (Red onions are yummy and add color to the salad)

Toss all of the prepared ingredients into your salad serving bowl. Pour the dressing over and mix well. Refrigerate for several hours to allow the flavors to marinade. You can prepare this salad a day in advance.

A simple easy dressing recipe you will want to hang onto for other salads as well.

  • Mayonnaise (Duke’s)
  • Vinegar (I have substituted Apple cider vinegar in a pinch)
  • Sugar

We use these same ingredients for our Homemade Creamy Cole Slaw recipe which is also super easy to prepare.

    1. We love the addition of the raisin, it add a tiny bit of natural sweetness and more fiber. You are so right about those Vidalia onions, they are the best! I like the red one’s in the broccoli salad also because they add a nice color.
