Do you preferย Milk Chocolate or White Chocolate? I’m a big fan of white chocolate. Not that I don’t enjoy good milk chocolate too but I just like white chocolate better, so when I came across this recipe in one of my favorite Christmas treats cookbooks I knew it was next on my to-do list.ย
I have this one Christmas cookbook with well-worn pages and sticky notes poking out all over it. We have been working our way through that book for years now. I found it in the checkout line at the grocery store many years ago. It is called, Pillsbury’s Most Requested Recipes Volume 5, Number 1 (Cookies, Bars, Candies & Bread) This recipe is adapted from that cookbook.
Tools Used
Ingredients
There are only 6 ingredients in this recipe and no baking. You can whip this recipe up in minutes then allow it to chill for about an hour before slicing.
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. White baking chips
- 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar (I use Dixie Crystal)
- 3 oz. Softened Cream Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Vanilla Cake Frosting, like this
- 3/4 Cup Chopped Pecans
- 2/3 Cup Sweet Dried Cranberries
Substitutions
Skip the cranberries if you like or maybe you’d prefer chopped pistachios or walnuts rather than pecans.
Directions
This will be one of your easiest dessert recipes for the busy holiday season.
Step 1
Line your 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy up. If you use aluminum foil, spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Set your pan aside until ready to use.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, cream cheese, and frosting. Mix on medium speed until well blended, about 60 seconds. Then stir in the pecans and dried cranberries by hand.
Tip
Spray a wooden spoon with non-stick spray to use for mixing in the nuts and cranberries.
Step 3
Now, melt the white chocolate chips in a medium saucepan over low heat stirring constantly. As soon as they are all melted, add them to the sugar mixture and stir well using your wooden spoon.
Tip
You can also do this step using a double boiler if you prefer. I do not recommend melting the white chocolate chips in the microwave as they tend to seize too quickly.
Step 4
Immediately spread the white fudge mixture into the prepared square pan. Refrigerate for about an hour or a couple of hours until completely set and ready to cut.
Step 5
Lift the foil from the pan to remove the fudge onto a cutting board. Pull the foil away from the fudge. Slice your Cranberry Nut White Chocolate Fudge into about 36 pieces using a sharp knife.

Fudge is always a good choice when gifting food or planning desserts for your Christmas celebrations. It’s quick and easy to make, stores well and most people love it.
Fudge also tends to be very sweet so be sure to cut the pieces small which is another good thing about it.

I used to make fudge every year, but haven’t made it recently. You have inspired me to make it again and this white chocolate fudge looks amazing! I love the combination of white chocolate and cranberries. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful holiday season with your family!
Sounds like the perfect festive treat to enjoy while decorating the tree and much better than a box of turtles like we do. Pinned
