Menu Plan #7 Celebrate Summer
This week’s Menu Plan comes as the school year is drawing to a close and summer vacations and grilling season begins. We have a full menu plan for our Memorial Day celebration included.
Our menu plan this week includes; burgers, hot dogs, BBQ wings and homestyle french fries as well as an easy to prepare Patriotic dessert.
Apple Banana Oat Nut Muffins are great for weekend breakfast. Make enough on Saturday morning so you have some for Sunday also.
It’s a relaxing weekend so we’re grilling hot dogs! Speaking of hot dogs, have you visited our Hot Dog Tour page? It’s a fun thing we do when we travel.
One of our favorite side dishes for hot dogs is these Oven Baked Homestyle Fries.
Grilled Cabbage & Bacon with Waffle Iron Cornbread
The texture and flavor of Waffle Iron Cornbread makes it a fun side dish perfect for soups and vegetable dishes like our Grilled Cabbage & Bacon.
Swedish Meatballs is a new recipe in our home and has already been requested several times. I searched far and wide for recipes before finally creating my own.
Italian butter with bread goes great with our Swedish Meatballs.
Quick & Easy Two Meat Three Ingredient Polynesian Dinner is a dish I learned from my Mom. It’s an easy to prepare meal.
Crabmeat Stew is a family favorite recipe which has been served at our dinner table for many years. You’ll want to save the recipe as it’s especially popular for the fall menu. We can’t wait that long to enjoy it though so we eat it year round.
3 Ingredient BBQ Chicken Wings is a special treat for my hubby on our Friday night menu. Our side dish will be California vegetables which I cheat and grab from the freezer section of the grocery store. If I prepare a whole bunch of these wings, my hubby wouldn’t even want a side dish to go with them.
It’s Memorial Day weekend so we will be grilling out! Our Saturday Menu includes our Tomato & Red Onion Jelly Burgers served with Black Eye Pea Salsa and Oven Baked Sweet Potato Chips with Red Hot Patriotic Poke Cupcakes for dessert. Those cupcakes are super easy to prepare, you’ll want to save that recipe for later.

Homemade Crescent Apple Turnovers
Yes, I know we do have a dessert for our Memorial Day Menu plan but that won’t be until next Saturday. We usually make our weekly dessert early in the week. These Apple Turnovers will be long gone before our Memorial Day cookout.
