Weekly Menu #5 It’s Fishy
I’m calling our Weekly Menu #5 It’s Fishy because we have managed to incorporate two fish recipes with shrimp on Sunday and Salmon on Thursday. Those are two of our favorite seafood entrees. What are yours?
It’s hard for me to believe that we’ve already passed our first month of making menus! It’s going well and has helped quite a bit to manage the grocery budget better.
Shrimp & Grits Pie A perfect meal for Sunday afternoon in the spring. A true southern delicacy. Grits infused with marinara and flavored with bacon, basil, jumbo shrimp and 2 cheeses.
Campfire Grilled Chicken & Veggie Foil Packet Dinner There is lots of room for your personal preferences with foil packet dinners. You can cook them on the grill or in the oven too!
There is currently no chef salad ‘recipe’ on the blog but it is coming soon! I’m using fresh raw vegetables from Monday’s menu again on Tuesday. A few of our favorite ingredients for a hearty Chef Salad include my Cornbread Croutons, Sweet & Salty Candied Pecans and my Mandarin Orange Dressing.
Skillet Cabbage, Rice & Sausage One Dish Dinner Only 6 ingredients and less than one hour to the dinner table! Packed with flavor and one of my hubby’s most requested dishes.
Southern Fried Salmon Patties Either you do or don’t love fried salmon patties. There is no in between. We have always served ours with rice. What is your favorite side dish with salmon patties?
Bacon Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich served with Baked Sweet Potato Chips
Brunch Bacon Swiss Quiche is the perfect meal for a lazy Saturday at home. We first served this dish for a Christmas Eve brunch. You will want to save the recipe in your Christmas recipe collection.
Dessert this week
Triple Nut Diamond Bar Cookies
These bar cookies are another recipe I originally prepared at Christmas but good any time of the year. They store well which allows for them to be enjoyed for several days. They are also a good game night dessert.
This should prove to be a fun week with our Fishy Menu! How is your menu planning process coming along?

You know I have a tough time choosing which one of these sounds the best, but as much as I like cabbage and shrimp, I think if I had to choose one to have tonight, I would go with Thursday, the southern fried salmon patties! Yummm!
You dishes looked wonderful and I wish I could eat sea food, but allergies won’t let me. I love how you have showed the various sea food you can eat each day of the week.
Oh my goodness! I bet that shrimp and grits pie is DELICIOUS. I had shrimp and grits for the first time in New Orleans and loved it! That sounds like it is right up my flavor alley.
Let me just say I stared at that dessert for a good five minutes. The shrimp and grits pie, oh my, you are speaking my language. I copied every recipe, lol.
That desert looks fantastic. Perfect for Bunco night. I’ll make them ahead.
YUM! Can I come over for dinner? Ya’ll are having some truly tasty sounding dishes. I usually menu plan for a month at a time. It kinda got thrown off track at the end of last month when we had to go out of town for a week due to a death of a family member. We are still trying to get the menu straightened out.
Mmm…all of these look so tasty!

Oh wow I’m already drooling by just looking at your picture. The Monday menu campfire chicken and veggies is my kind of food. I remember last weekend we order exactly like this in Crackle Barrel. I need to steal your recipe for this!
I only wish I could cook food that looked that good. OMG! I would like to come over and be a house guest for a night lol. I seriously want to try all of that.
Oooh, all of these recipes look delicious. I’ve never tried the foil packet in the oven. Do I broil it? I’m definitely making the nut bars tonight, after the kids are asleep (so I don’t have to share)!
These all look so good! I bookmarked the Salmon Patties for tomorrow night. We also just bought some cans that were on sale, and those patties look delicious! I will definitely be coming back to check out more recipes!
Can I just come to your home for dinner this week? Everything looks so delicious! It has been a long time since we’ve had Salmon Patties, I think it’s time for me to change that! Menu Plans are great, aren’t they?!
Everything on your menu sounds delicious. I’ve been thinking of planning our meals, too, but I just keep on planning. Lol. It’s time I put it into action. Thanks for sharing the links to the recipes.
