My latest Dollar Store Pumpkin makeover is in bright traditional fall colors using a pretty floral fall napkin.
This fall for some reason I have been distracted by crafting Dollar Store pumpkin makeovers. My next two are both going to be burlap which I plan to use in a fall tablescape.
Did you see my first dollar store pumpkin makeover this year? I used a pretty paisley patterned napkin found at a store called Tuesday Morning. Go here for the details including the complete vignette setting in a guest bath.
It doesn’t get much more simple than just a few supplies for a pretty addition to your fall decor. I first used these napkins several years ago on this Fall Luminary Vase.
This is a really easy craft. It is just a matter of either cutting or tearing the napkin into workable pieces and gluing them to the pumpkin using Mod Podge.
Making small cuts along the way helps to keep the wrinkles to a minimum. It isn’t very difficult to match up the pattern. I usually do small sections at a time applying small amounts of Mod Podge to the pumpkin and smoothing the napkin onto it. It’s easier to smooth out the wrinkles when you do small sections.
One of the great things about using decorative napkins for dollar store pumpkin makeovers is that it only takes a couple. There are lots of napkins in a package so I just cut one to fit and match the pattern on that last little spot and it turned out great.
After the entire pumpkin is covered I allow the Mod Podge ample drying time. Then I cover the exterior with about three coats of Mod Podge allowing each coat to dry before adding the next. This serves as a sealer and leaves a nice shine.
The stem is covered with jute and the top is embellished with a couple of faux leaves from my fall decor.
We are enjoying our new pumpkin addition on this years Fall Beverage Bar which you can get the details of right here.
We support these blog hops.
