Crockpot Green Bean Casserole Recipe
Homemade green bean casserole is the most famous side dish to grace a holiday table.
It is no wonder that this classic green bean casserole recipe has been around for such a long time. It is a delicious side dish and an easy recipe with only a few ingredients. Plus, everyone loves it.
I can still remember the first time my mother made green bean casserole. We were hooked and she served it every year at Thanksgiving.

Ingredients List
- 3 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
- 2 cans (10.5 oz each) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk, whole or 2%
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 can (6 oz) french-fried onions
How to Make Green Bean Casserole in the Crockpot
Step 1 Prepare the Crockpot
Line the Crockpot with disposable Crockpot Liners or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2
Drain all of the juice from the green beans and add the beans to the slow cooker.
Step 3
In a medium-sized bowl, add the canned cream of mushroom soup, milk, and seasonings. Whisk together until the mixture is pretty smooth. The mushrooms will keep it from being completely smooth. Then pour over the green beans in the Crockpot and gently mix with the green beans.

Step 4
Using a spatula, fold about half of the french fried onions into the green bean mixture.
Step 5
Place the lid onto the Crockpot and cook for about 2-3 hours on low or about one hour on high.
Step 6
Remove the lid and sprinkle the remaining crispy fried onions on top of the delicious green bean casserole. Leave the lid off the Crockpot and serve.

Directions for making Green Bean Casserole in the Oven
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°. Prepare your casserole dish by spraying the inside with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2
Drain all of the green beans and spread them into the casserole dish in an even layer.
Step 3
In a medium-sized bowl, add the canned cream of mushroom soup, milk, and seasonings. Whisk together until the mixture is pretty smooth. Now fold in about half of the french fried onions. Then pour over the green beans and gently mix with a spatula so that all of the green beans get hugged with the creamy soup mixture.
Step 4
Place your baking dish, uncovered into your preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining onions on top then return to the oven for about 5 minutes. Those crispy onions on top are just about the star of the show.

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a couple of days. Can be reheated in the microwave.
