Ingredient List for Spiced Pecans with Maple Syrup
- 1 tbsp. fresh rosemary leaves, finely chopped
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground cardamom
- 3/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. ground cayenne
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tbsp. maple syrup
- 4 cups whole pecans
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar or large grain sugar like raw cane
How to make the best spiced pecans
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350ยฐ.
Then line a large rimmed cookie sheet with parchment paper or use a baking mat. Set aside while you prepare the recipe.
Make a genuine effort not to munch on the pecans while you are preparing this spicy pecans recipe. It is super tempting so you might want to have another handful just for munching.
Step 2
Combine the rosemary, cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, cloves, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir to blend and set aside.
This blend of spices smells delicious and creates a great flavor.

Melt butter on medium heat in a small skillet.
Once the butter is mostly melted, add the honey and maple syrup. Stir to combine.

Continue to heat for about 1 or 2 more minutes until heated through while stirring. Remove from heat and set aside.

Now place the pecans into a large bowl and pour the melted butter mixture over them. Toss to coat all of the pecans with butter.

Then add the blended spice mixture to the coated pecans and toss well. Coat all of the pecan halves completely as much as possible.

Spread pecans onto your prepared rimmed baking sheet into a single layer.

Oven temperatures vary so keep a check on your pecans if your oven tends to cook hot and fast. Convection ovens may take less time.

Remove from the oven when the pecans are roasted.
Allow to cool for about 5 minutes then sprinkle half of the sugar over them. Toss the toasted pecans and sprinkle the remaining sugar over them.
Cool completely.
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 or 3 weeks.

- ยฝ tsp. ground cloves
- ยผ tsp. ground cayenne
- ยฝ tsp. fine sea salt
- ยผ tsp. black pepper
- ยผ cups. unsalted butter
- 1/3 cups. honey, preferably local
- 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
- 4 cups. whole pecans
- ยผ cup. raw cane or other large grain sugar, for dusting
