Ingredients
I am using a Butt portion ham but you can also use boneless ham or a spiral cut ham if you like. This Crockpot ham recipe needs only four ingredients.
- Butt portion ham, about 7 lbs. for us
- 1 can (15 oz.) sliced Pineapple in heavy syrup
- 3/4 Cup brown sugar
- 9-12 whole cherries in syrup
Directions
Step 1
Begin by adding a slow cooker liner to your crock pot like these, for easy clean-up. It’s one of my most favorite kitchen hacks.
Trim any excess fat from the ham if needed. Place ham flat side down in the slow cooker.
Step 2
Drain the pineapple juice into a small bowl or a large measuring cup as shown.
Then blend the brown sugar and pineapple juice together to create the glaze for the ham.
Step 3
Pour the brown sugar pineapple glaze slowly over the top of the ham allowing it to drain down the sides. The excess juice will rest in the bottom of the crock pot which is fine.
Step 4
Use round toothpicks, like these, to place the pineapple rings all over the ham. Do not add the cherries at this time. Those pineapple rings add a yummy flavor along with the juices to make this a true Brown Sugar and Pineapple Glazed ham.
Step 5
Set the Crockpot to low and cook for about 5 hours. Adjust the cooking time according to whatever size ham you may be cooking. Pork needs to reach an internal temperature of 160ยฐ.
I use a digital meat thermometer like this one when I am cooking meat and I love it. It works great no matter what method you use to cook meat.
Ham is done when internal temperature reaches 160ยฐ
Step 6 Serve
Once the ham is done, carefully lift from the Crockpot onto a serving platter. Use the tips of the toothpicks to place the cherries onto.
After slicing my Brown sugar and Pineapple ham, I plate it onto a serving platter add pineapples and cherries.
Because everyone always wants a pineapple and more than one cherry, you may want to serve more of those in a side dish.

We enjoy this meal also… and the crockpot sure helps… comes out moist and done just right. It has been a while since we had this… it may be time to do it again. ๐
This is my favorite way to make ham. I love the flavor that the pineapples give to it. I always loved the cherries, too, but apparently everyone else in my family has an aversion to cherries! Thanks for sharing with us at Snickerdoodle, Shirley. Pinning & Sharing.
