Super Easy Kid Pirate Boot Covers
The blogger who made these adorable Pirate boot covers is no longer online. However, here are your simple instructions:
Supplies:
- Black felt
- Velcro
- Need and black thread or Fabric glue
- Gold medallion stickers, look at Dollar Tree for these
Directions
Measure
Measure your child’s leg around and add at least 3 or 4 inches to overlap for fastening. You will also need extra because it will be at a slight angle at the top. Then measure your child’s leg for the length so that the bottom of the boot cover will rest on the shoe and the top is about 3 or 4 inches above the knee for folding over. This is the size of felt you need.
Buy black felt then cut in half
Go to the fabric store and buy enough black felt from a bolt. They will cut the length you ask for.
Cut your big piece of black felt in half so you have a piece for each leg.
Add a fastener to the backside
If you are handy with a needle and thread, you can sew the velcro into place on the back side for fastening. Use fabric glue, like this one, if you have no desire to use a needle and thread.
Decorate
Lastly, attach several gold stick-on medallions to look like big buckles and you are done.
