Homegating Menu & Snack Hacks
Homegating for the big game is one of our favorite events of the year. It doesn’t get better than watching the game in the comfort of your living room surrounded by friends and family with a really delicious buffet of football part food!
Our homegate menu is inspired by stadium food and let’s face it, also for ease of preparation for the hostess!
Have you ever hosted an event and realized later that you didn’t even get to enjoy your guests because you were too busy tending to the food the entire time? Our menu will make your tabletop tailgate party fun for you!

A hot dog buffet is perfect for Homegating. Be sure to serve all the trimmings and sides including our scrumptious Crockpot Maple Beans & Franks. Using delicious Tyson Any’tizer to make the sliders saves on time! See my hack for keeping the hot dogs warm below.
Our favorite way to cook hot dogs is on a stove top griddle. Ours covers two burners. It’s a good hack option instead firing up the grill.
Cooking hot dogs on a stove top griddle makes them almost taste like they were really grilled. Please don’t boil the hot dogs! That just ruins the flavor! They only take a few minutes to grill on the stove top. If you don’t have a griddle, use a big skillet. The trick is to rotate them often so they cook evenly on all side. I love them with just a small touch of char on the outside.
How To Keep Your Hot Dogs Warm and Steam the Buns at the Same Time!
After those delicious franks are grilled to perfection, place them in the buns. Then place each one carefully back into the bag and seal it. The heat will steam the buns and keep the hot dogs warm until your guests arrive.
Our Homemade Cole Slaw can be made a day or two in advance. It’s an easy recipe beginning with a bag of slaw mix from the grocery store. We like easy!

Tyson Any’tizers are so easy to prepare in the oven and ready in literally minutes! Just slice open your Hawaiian rolls and slide one Any’tizer into each. One bag of Tyson Any’tizers will yield around 30 sliders so they are also an affordable party food.
Easy Chili Dip and Hot Dog Chili in One!
I fired up two Crockpots for our party. The smaller pot has our Chili Dip/Topping warming. No recipe needed folks. Just dump a couple cans of chili with no beans into the pot and cook on low. Once the chili is nice and warm, stir in about 8 oz. of shredded sharp cheese and stir. How easy is that? Now you have both a hot dog topping and a chip dip!
Get those really big corn chips for dipping the chili. Such a yummy combo!
My recipe for Crockpot Maple Beans & Franks is the perfect side for our party. It’s a hearty, delicious stick-to-the-ribs favorite and why not with franks and bacon! We might even call it a casserole and add it to our dinner menu! Wouldn’t a bowl full be nice by the fireside this winter?
Cheap Homegating Decor Hacks!
Table Cover layers are created beginning with a green plastic tablecloth from the Dollar Store. We are in Georgia and our team is Atlanta Falcons with red and black colors. So, I grabbed one of my thin flannel blankets and used it on the table! It’s machine washable folks, so easy clean up if there are spills.
Our Party Table Backdrop is created using black plastic tablecloths and red streamers from the Dollar store. Cheap and super easy to put up.
Did you notice the cute red and black polka dot banner hanging on the front of the party table? The no-sew banner is an easy DIY project found here.
Grab our free printable Team Positions bottle labels here. They fit around water or soda bottle and secure with a piece of tape and they print five per page.

Your tabletop tailgate looks so nice and it’s enough already to become a conversation starter. Hot dogs are comfort food everyone appreciates. I think this is an awesome put-together meal for a house party.
Great menu! We are not big sports fans, but we are big food fans! I seriously want to make some chili dogs and some frank and beans now! Man, they both look really good! I love maple with baked beans!
I haven’t eaten meat in 4 years and I can’t even remember the last time I had a hot dog! This post definitely brings back memories of when we would barbecue them in the summer. It’s vegan dogs for me now 😉
I don’t even watch football I would start just to get an invite to this party!! Love the tip about putting the hot dogs in the bun back in the bag…I’ll be using that for sure!
I don’t know that I have ever heard the term Homegating before, but I am totally going to steal it! My favorite part about football season is all of the delicious food! Some of your recipes just might be showing up at our home for the big game!
It looks like a fun party at your place. We have taken to doing the at home game thing more and more vs going to them because of the cold. My hubby loves all of your food options but the Coleslaw. I can’t get the man to eat seafood and coleslaw. Silly man. I think your party is going to be a blast.
Homegating sounds like so much fun. The beans look really good and I love the idea of the football labels on the water bottles. Very creative ideas.
How fun, can I come over? Your homegating looks like so much fun! I love the pics and the menu! I am always sad after the big game, no other sport is as fun for me to watch! Thx for these great recipes
I love the idea of homegating, so much fun. I have all of my recipes lined up (the list is forever changing) for what I will be making. Those franks and beans look fantastic.
Oh…I love your homegating display. Everything looks so appetizing , right down to my favorite Ballpark Hot Dogs! The footballs are too cute. You nailed this, for sure! 🙂
Looks like you are prepared for the Big game. I learned something new while reading your post. I never thought about putting the hotdogs back in the bag to steam the buns. So smart! Enjoy the game.
Mmm this all looks FANTASTIC! We are HUGE football fans – our team almost made it too but oh well. This spread is PERFECT! Why not do a homegating menu the same as actual tailgating! Now I am HUNGRY lol. We used to do homegating all the time – like EVERY weekend when the kids were little, then life got too busy. You have inspired me to start it up again next year. 🙂
I think I want to come to your party just so I can dabble into some of those delicious dishes you are displaying. Your football topper for the hot dog tray is super cute. I usually just make my quinoa chili and zucchini chips for Superbowl Sunday but your display is amazing.
These are the perfect food for a football party! Nothing fancy needs to be done, and everyone still goes home with full tummy’s!
What a yummy way to enjoy the game at home. I do enjoy a good hot dog on game day.
Frank and beans! We use to eat this as kids, I haven’t thought about it in years! Great party!
Never heard the term “homegating” before, but it is definitely better for someone like me who doesn’t really love sports. I can enjoy time with friends in a comfortable atmosphere, then do something else when the game comes on.
I would encourage you to do a search of the word ‘homegating’. You will find that it’s quite a popular idea particularly in relation to Super Bowl parties. You will also find lots of great ideas and recipes using Ball Park® Angus Beef Franks, Tyson® Any’tizers® and Wright® Brand Bacon. Thank you for stopping by. I am glad you learned something new today.
Homegating, what a great word! I have never heard it used before. Your party looks like so much fun! I love all of the food choices you made.
Hi Tina. I have a feeling we will be seeing a whole lot of homegating ideas in the near future for the Super Bowl this year!
What a fun homegating party! I love your color scheme and your snack hacks. Those Maple Beans and Franks look delicious. This is my kind of party. I’m looking forward to the big game this year since one of my two favorite teams is going for the win!
Isn’t is going to be an awesome Super Bowl this year. Both of our fav teams are in it but we will be rooting for the home time since we live in Georgia! It will be a fun day. Those Beans and Franks will be in a Crockpot on our party table!
What a fun party! I just love sports themed parties, especially football!
Thank you Carlee. Football is my favorite professional sport. I wish the season was as long as the basketball season! Football themed parties are just so fun!
