This is a traditional Southern Thanksgiving menu which is what my family loves. Even if we can convince folks to try something new for Thanksgiving, they insist upon keeping the old favorites as well. My philosophy is, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

What a great idea to include a menu and grocery list. Great recipes too!
I’m sorry to hear about your mom’s passing – I know how hard it can be during the holidays. My mom got very sick 17 years ago and was in the hospital Thanksgiving day. She passed away right before Christmas, so the holidays are a mixed bag for me. You have to embrace the time you have with your family and cherish these times, as busy as they are. Thank you for the sweet mention of my blog 🙂 ~Renee
Thanks for sharing that Renee. I know that time heals the wound of grief. It was an eye opener when my grandson expressed his grief with the sentence and the pictures he drew. It was happenstance to come across the 27 Days of Thanksgiving printable. The grands enjoy doing that activity and I believe it will be helpful.
Sorry to hear about your mom, Shirley. Mine has been gone now for coming up on 14 years, and I still miss her. I’m excited about your Stress Less for the Holidays series. This will be fun to follow. 🙂

Life With Lorelai
Thanks, Lorelai. I’m sorry that you have lost your mother also. I’m excited about the Stress Less Series myself. I’m trying to create less stress in my own life with these great ideas, hints, tips and do ahead dishes. We host Thanksgiving dinner at our house. I’m excited about it just talking about it. LoL
Love the thanksgiving project! Kind of like posting something on Facebook every day that you’re thankful for (what I’m doing). It’s important to remember these things! And THANK YOU so much for the plug for “The Tastiest Thanksgiving Ever”! 🙂
I agree Kristen, it is only a few weeks out of the year to post Thankfulness. I consider it to be a way of ministering to others. Love your Tastiest Thanksgiving Ever series and looking forward to all the great recipes you will be sharing with us.
Our Thanksgiving was already a month ago (in Canada Thanksgiving is in October), it was so stress less this year and fun. I simplified the meal, and we just did a bonfire, everyone was happy.
Anna, we live in the USA. Thanksgiving is celebrated the last Thursday of November. This tradition began with a proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln back in 1863. It is good to know that other countries also have a day to celebrate their own Thanksgiving traditions.
