Grinch Rice Krispies Treats
Grinch Rice Krispies Treats are a quick and easy no-bake dessert you can make for Christmas parties and celebrations.
Why are Grinch Rice Krispies Treats so great?
The only cooking involved is melting candy chips in the microwave. Melted candy chips are the glue that holds the three sizes too small Grinch heart in place.
There are only a couple of simple ingredients involved; store-bought Rice Krispies treats, green candy melts and a red candy heart.
Grinch Rice Krispies can be made a day or two in advance and then stored in an airtight container.

Directions
Step-by-step directions plus a video below.
Step 1 Prepare your work surface
Prepare your workspace and gather all of the ingredients and tools. I recommend using these disposable counter covers.
Step 2 Unwrap the Rice Krispies
Unwrap your pre-packaged Rice Krispies Treats. Cut each one in half to create a small square treat.
Line up all of your cut square rice kripsies treats so you can dip and coat them in the green candy icing one by one.
You will coat then add a heart quickly before the candy coating begins to dry.
Step 3 Melt the Green Candy Melts
Melt your green candy melts in the microwave. I only used half of the bag for this rice krispies dessert project.
Begin with half power at 15 seconds. Stir and then keep doing that in 15-second intervals. Once there are only tiny tidbits of the candy remaining, stop microwaving and stir until it all melts with the residual heat.
It is important that you melt chocolate or candy melts on half power in the microwave. The candy can seize and have to be thrown away if it overheats. It is best to go slow.
Step 4 Decorate the Rice Krispy Treats
It is time to decorate the rice crispy treats and it will only take a few minutes. You can either dip them into the melted candy coating or use a small spatula to spread it onto the surface of the rice crispy treat.
Immediately add the red candy heart to the bottom corner while the frosting is still wet. You know the Grinch’s heart is three sizes too small, so we use small red candy hearts for this Christmas dessert.
Allow your Grinch Rice Krispies dessert bars to sit for a while to allow the candy to harden and the heart to stay in place.
That is all there is to it. Cut the rice krispy treats in half, coat them with green melted candy melts, stick a small candy heart into place, and let them dry. Super easy no-bake Christmas dessert.
They can be made a day in advance and are cute on the kid’s table on Christmas. Also good for classroom parties at school.
Grinch Rice Krispies Treats are quick to make and fun to eat. This no-bake Christmas dessert is perfect for kids and grown-ups too.

How to store candy-coated Rice Krispies treats

You can make these a day or two in advance and then store them in an airtight container until your event.
