I remember growing up that Mom made Spaghetti often. Mom used those spaghetti kits you used to get at the grocery store. Sometimes there would be ground beef stirred into the sauce and sometimes no meat.
My crew enjoys my recipe for Spaghetti with meatballs slow cooked in the sauce. The flavor is great in this simple recipe and the best part is there are only four ingredients.

Tools
- Crockpot
- Large Saucepan for boiling the noodles
- Wooden spoon for stirring
- Pasta server, like this

Ingredients
- 8 oz. Spaghetti noodles
- 2 Jars of Spaghetti sauce (24 oz.)
- 1 bag of frozen Meatballs
- 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
Meatballs
You can buy frozen meatballs in a variety of sizes and flavors. The bite size meatballs will have up to 56 in each bag. It sounds like a lot but they really are bite size. The dinner size may have about 24-26 meatballs per bag.
The two main flavors of frozen meatballs are Italian style and beef. I try to always buy beef. I live in the south where there are Publix grocery stores. Publix runs frozen meatballs on the buy one, get one free sale about once a month. When they are on sale is a good time to stock up.
Spaghetti Sauce
My pasta sauce brand of choice is Prego. We enjoy the thick richness and the flavor variety. Plus this brand is not watery. This brand of spaghetti sauce generally goes on sale often enough to keep in the pantry for pasta dinners.
Directions
When cooking in the Crockpot I always begin by adding one of the disposable Crockpot liners for easy cleanup.
Printable recipe below.

Step 1
Add the desired amount of frozen meatballs into your prepared Crockpot. About 4-5 meatballs per person should be enough. Save the rest in the freezer for another meal.
If you are not using a disposable Crockpot liner, be sure to spray the inside with non-stick spray for easy cleanup.

Step 2
Pour the spaghetti sauce over the top of the meatballs. I often use two jars if I am feeding more than two people. Everyone loves lots of pasta sauce on top of the cooked noodles.
Then sprinkle the Italian seasoning on top of the sauce and stir.
Step 3
Set your Crockpot to Low and allow to cook for about three hours. Remove the lid and stir once about half way through the cook time.
Cooking the spaghetti noodles
I do not cook the spaghetti noodles in the Crockpot with the meatballs and sauce because you would need to add water to do that. Watery spaghetti sauce is not very tasty to me. So I cook the noodles in a pot on the stove separately.
Follow the directions on the package for cooking the spaghetti noodles. That will mean using a large pot to boil water. Bring the water to a boil, add the noodles and cook for about 12 minutes or until the noodles are tender. Drain in a colander. Sprinkle a dab of olive oil over the noodles and toss to coat.
Serving your Spaghetti and Meatballs
Place the desired amount of spaghetti noodles onto your serving plate. Top with meatballs and sauce. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese, like this and enjoy!
A nice side dish with spaghetti and meatballs would be a small garden salad. We also enjoy buttered baked bread topped with garlic powder. It is easy to pick up the frozen bread that cooks in the hot oven in about 4 minutes. Check the freezer section at your grocery store.
