Easy Cheesy Baked Ravioli Recipe
This easy weeknight meal idea can be made with refrigerated or frozen ravioli. You can make this dish with as few as 3 simple ingredients. Freeze it for later or make it tonight. Leftovers are fabulous.
I prefer to use spaghetti sauce for this recipe because I buy my favorite brand, which is loaded with flavorful seasonings.

There are several things about this recipe to love. One of those things is that you can make it with 3 ingredients if you skip the meat.
Another one of my favorite things about this easy recipe is that it can be frozen. You can make it ahead and freeze it. Thaw completely on the counter, then cook.
Plus, you do not have to boil the ravioli!
Let’s not overlook just how yummy this dish is, too!
Ingredients
- 1 bag (18-24 oz) cheese-stuffed ravioli (refrigerated or frozen-do not thaw frozen)
- 1 jar (24 oz.) Spaghetti sauce
- 16 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 lb. ground beef (Optional)
Brown and drain the ground beef, then return the meat to the skillet. Pour the jar of spaghetti sauce into the meat. Heat to boiling. Turn off the heat.
Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray. Scoop a small amount of the meat sauce into the bottom of the baking dish. Spread to cover the bottom.
Top the meat sauce with the ravioli to cover the entire bottom of the baking dish. Do not stack them. Lay them side by side. You should be able to get about 4 per row.
You can add a thin layer of mozzarella cheese now if you like. Be sure you have enough cheese for the topping.
Now, top the ravioli with more of the meat sauce. Spread to cover. Follow that with more rows of ravioli, then meat sauce. Finally, top with mozzarella.
Bake, covered with foil, at 375° for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil. Return to the oven until the cheese melts. Remove from the oven. Let it set on the counter for about 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Freezer Instruction
To freeze this dish, follow the recipe. Prepare your baked ravioli in a freezer-safe dish. I like to use disposable foil pans for easy cleanup. Cover the completely cooled dish with foil. Wrap tightly. Label the top before placing into the freezer. Use within 3 months.
To cook, thaw completely on the counter. Heat, covered, in a 375° oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven, top with mozzarella cheese, and return to the oven until the cheese melts.
Storage Instruction
This dish can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Cover tightly to store. This meal is delicious as leftovers.

Cooking Tips
Substitute ground sausage for the ground beef if your family enjoys a little flavor kick. You could even use a 1/2 pound of each if you like. I have also used ground turkey.
If using frozen ravioli, increase the baking time by about 15 minutes.
Substitute marinara sauce for the spaghetti sauce.
Spray your aluminum foil with nonstick spray before covering to bake. That will keep the cheese from sticking to the foil.
