Homemade Fudgesicles Recipe

Make this simple and easy recipe for homemade Fudgesicle popsicles to enjoy on a hot summer day or in the middle of January.

Fudgesicles are the perfect creamy chocolate frozen sweet treat to cool down in the heat of the summer.

These fudge pops are so easy to make, that you can keep a batch in your freezer all of the time. The best part, is they are not expensive to make.

My Mom always kept fudgesicle popsicles in the freezer all summer long. It is one of my fond memories from childhood. Back in those days, Mom used little paper cups with popsicle sticks to make homemade popsicles and you can still do that. But I like using my popsicle molds.

Do you remember the Ice Cream Truck driving through your neighborhood as a child? I sure do. I always wanted one of those orange push-ups but Mom always got herself a fudgesicle. Now, I am just like my Mom which is why I am sharing my recipe to make your own fudgesicles.

Simple Ingredients

Chances are excellent that you have all of these ingredients already in your kitchen but if you don’t they are easy to find at the grocery store.

Ingredients to make homemade fudgesicles
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Kitchen Equipment needed

You only need a couple of things for this homemade fudgesicles recipe.

  • Popsicle Mold
  • Large Saucepan
  • Whisk

Directions

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, cocoa powder, sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring often, and then reduce the heat to low.

Step 2

When the sugar is completely dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Step 3

Pour the chocolate mixture into the plastic mold. You may want to pour it into a large measuring cup or bowl with a pouring spout first. Insert the popsicle stick into your fudge popsicles, and cover then freeze until firm for at least 6 hours or overnight.

To remove your delicious frozen treats from the mold, you can dip the popsicle mold in warm water for 5 to 7 seconds.
