How To Make Cookie Crumble Ice Cream

We are using similar cookies for our ice cream mix-in’s; Oreo, Nutter Butter and Chewy Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip cookies. Get ready for an ultimate summer treat for your family, without going to a restaurant. The best part, it’s a simple recipe.
Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 Cups whole milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract, I use this brand
Cookie Mix-In Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Oreo cookies, crumbled
- 1/2 Cup Chewy Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies, crumbled
- 1/2 Cup Nutter Butter Cookies, crumbled
Step1
Begin by making your ice cream base. Add the sugar, heavy cream, milk and vanilla to a medium mixing bowl and beat on medium speed until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 2
Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer directions. Your fresh creamy ice cream will be ready in about 30 minutes or so.
Step 3
Optional Step
The finished ice cream will be soft serve. To make a more firm ice cream transfer the finished ice cream to a freezer safe container like a loaf pan and smooth the top with the back of a spoon. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for about 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
Makes about one quart of liquid and 1 1/2 quarts of frozen ice cream. Including the prep time, you can be sitting down to a bowl of fresh homemade soft serve ice cream in under one hour.
This churn ice cream recipe uses simple ingredients and one piece of special equipment which is the ice cream maker. We use the Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker, available on Amazon. It takes this recipe about 30 minutes to freeze in our Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker.

Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup sugar

- 1/2 Cup crumbled Nutter Butter Cookies
Instructions
Begin by beating the sugar, heavy cream, milk and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved
Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer directions.
Just before the ice cream is almost completely set, add the cookie crumbles. Turn the ice cream maker back on and let it finish making.
The finished ice cream will be soft serve. To make a more firm ice cream transfer the finished ice cream to a freezer safe container and place in the freezer for about 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
Notes
Yield is about 1 1/2 quarts of frozen ice cream. The number of servings you get will depend on how much control everyone exhibits over going back for more!
