Autumn Home Tour 2022
Because Autumn is my very favorite time of the year, I enjoy decorating my home to bring the outdoors in. Using traditional Autumn colors to decorate makes my home feel warm and cozy for Fall.
Fall leaf garlands, pine cones, faux pumpkins and lots of traditional Autumn colors bring the outdoors in for fall decorating.

Autumn Porch
We begin our Autumn home tour on the front porch. Pumpkins and Mums are my favorite things to decorate a porch during Autumn.
Live mums and a pumpkin surround the front door for a welcoming entry on the front porch.
It’s so great that we can find those gorgeous fall mums almost anywhere to buy. You can even find them at the grocery store this time of the year. They tend to require a lot of watering because the pot is so full of roots.
TIP
When buying live Mums for fall decorating, always choose the ones with few blooms but lots of buds. This way you will have fall colors for much longer.
A cute scarecrow on a stand is holding a sign that says ‘Give Thanks” with outstretched arms to greet visitors on one side of the door. On the other side is a ‘Harvest’ sign made using a floor board from the porch of our former home.
The Fall Wreath is a fun DIY project. I enjoy making wreaths for my home and you can browse my DIY wreath projects for ideas and tutorials.
Autumn Dining Room
One of my favorite things to do during the Fall is to decorate my dining room. As a fan of traditional Fall colors, I enjoy bringing the outside in with home decorating.
This year, inspired by the new paint color in my dining room, I chose Teal and Orange for my Tablescape.
Because I work from home, I can sit in any room of the house with my laptop during the workday. When my dining room is decorated for Fall, I enjoy working from there.
The sideboard is decorated in traditional Fall colors including bright oranges with some yellow and deep reds.
One end has a cornucopia spilling out lots of bright fall flowers, colorful Autumn leaves, pinecones, and mini pumpkins.
On the other end, an apple basket spills out faux natural elements. Notice there are even a few of my painted pine cones included. I used a mini hay bale next to the apple basket. It has a mini pumpkin resting on top next to a stacked pumpkin floral pick.
The tablescape is Teal and Orange this year. Take a closer look to see all of the details of the tablescape. I also shared my teal pumpkin display in the dining room in the Teal and Orange Fall Tablescape article.
Foyer
Our foyer is rather wide and roomy. In fact, because it is so large and right next to the dining room, we have been known to use an extended table in the space for large family dinners, like Thanksgiving.
A church pew-style bench is decorated with a burnt orange blanket and a couple of Fall pillows.
Right next to the bench is a small Mum resting on a wooden stool. The Fall decorations in the foyer are simple. A small dough bowl is filled with painted pine cones underneath the bench.
Autumn Decorated Fireplace
This year we had a big makeover done to the wall above our fireplace and this is my first time being able to decorate with the new look.
The fireplace is in the living room where we spend most of our evenings so I love making it feel warm and cozy, especially during Autumn.
Grapevine pumpkin topiaries on the mantle came from Lowe’s a few years ago. See here, when I used them on the front porch. They light up with white lights.
Meet Winston, our Labradoodle who loves taking naps in front of the fireplace.
There are two Autumn leaf garlands on the mantle. Plus an untold number of faux leaves are carefully hand-placed. A few faux pumpkins are included among the faux leaves as well. You can find similar fall leaf garlands on Amazon.
Although I love making wreaths, this one came from Hobby Lobby. We saw it, fell in love immediately and the rest is history.
Breakfast Room
Most of our meals are enjoyed at the little dinette table in our breakfast room. I don’t usually decorate this table because it is a vintage 50’s diner style and I love it as it is. But Fall is different.
Because this table is used every day, I set it very simply. A burnt orange tablecloth with an embossed leaf pattern. Thankfully it is machine washable because we do eat at this table.
Melamine Pumpkin dishes I found at TJ Maxx several years ago. I used them in the kitchen a few years ago on this tablescape. They are dishwasher safe which is great since they are my everyday dishes in the fall. Amazon has a nice selection of gorgeous Pumpkin dinner plates.
The placemats are plastic so they can be easily wiped clean. Finally, there is a small light-up pumpkin in the center of the table.
The kitchen sideboard is decorated with an oversized three-tier tray filled with Fall decorations. An Autumn colors kitchen towel serves as a tablecloth under the tray.
Thank you for taking a walk through our Autumn home tour this year. We are enjoying staying home and cozying up in front of a Hallmark movie most evenings. I am blessed that my hubby enjoys Hallmark movies too, especially their mystery movies.
