Best Mop and Bucket Combo
The best mop and bucket combo for homeowners is not only the one that works best but also that suits your storage space and cleaning needs.
As a former residential cleaning business owner, I have mopped a whole lot of floors using several different types of mops and mop buckets. An occasional client might request a certain type of cleaner be used on their floor but only one, in 20 years, ever requested we use a particular type of mop. See my Floor Cleaning Tips too. I started out being in love with The Wonder Mop and still own two of them. They are great for quick clean-ups.

My Mom’s generation used the old fashioned cotton mop that you wring out by hand. They also mopped their floors with ammonia if you can believe that. That is exactly how my Mom taught me to mop when I was young. I still remember her cautioning me to never have my head directly over the mop bucket because the ammonia smell is so strong. Thankfully, we are all much wiser now and know better than to use ammonia.
My current all-time favorite mop and bucket system is the O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop and Bucket. What is so great about this mop? My personal favorite part is hands free wringing.
- It’s a hands free mopping system
- You use your foot instead of your hand to wring it out
- The mop head is machine washable
- It reaches into corners because of the triangle mop head
- Telescopic handle for less bending over
Mop and Bucket Storage
You need a place in your home to store your mop and mop bucket. Your choice of storage will depend on your space. First, remove the wet mop head and toss it in the washer to be cleaned. Air dry for next time you mop.
