Green Beans and Thanksgiving were meant to be together! We are lucky to have anything green on the Thanksgiving table since we break out all the most carb filled dishes for the biggest meal of the year!

Pecan Glazed Green Beans are really easy to prepare. Get the easy recipe at intelligentdomestications.com

Thanksgiving is really one of my favorite days of the year. It is such a relaxing day with family spent fellow-shipping over a fabulous meal. Everyone in each family brings their most requested dishes to share. We usually have two turkeys. Everyone also brings their own to-go containers because we always plan for leftovers. It’s wonderful!

These Green Beans will come out fresh and delicious. No one will even know you made them in the microwave!

Prepare 1 lb. of  fresh green beans by snipping of the tip ends.

Place them into a shallow microwave safe bowl with lid.

Pour about 1 cup of water or Chicken broth over beans and cover with lid

Microwave on high for about 5-7 minutes. You want the beans to be steamed but crisp.

Once done, toss with a nice sprinkling of sea salt, serve and enjoy!

Optional. I toss roasted Pecan halves into the Green Beans.

  1. Thanks so much for sharing my mocha punch recipe. It is, indeed, a family tradition. My sister, Melinda, got the recipe from me years ago and she has it every Thanksgiving and Christmas. She shared it with all the teachers at the elementary school where she works in Colorado and they all make it now too. Your food looks delicious!

  2. This series has been awesome! I have several new recipes to try. Each of them are simple and easy. None of them take strange ingredients either. I hate when a recipe calls for something strange like fish sauce or something. This series will bless people for years to come I am sure,

  3. I have so enjoyed this Thanksgiving series. thank you for all of your hard work in getting it all put together. I love the simplicity of those green beans, and that mocha punch sounds to die for! 🙂 Pinned!

  4. For years we have lived without a microwave, and our new home does not have one either. A microwave sure makes things go fast, but I am concerned about health. Hope you have a great, stress free Thanksgiving, you deserve it!

  5. Another thought—–the Green Bean casserole can be done in a slowcooker!!! As can the mashed potatoes! Talk about EASY! I have a small crowd for Thanksgiving, but a HUGE one for Christmas. I’m borrowing as many slowcookers as possible for all my side dishes! Now—-to go check out that mocha punch!!!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Amy. I’m not sure why we hadn’t been using the slow cookers for the holiday meals before now! My bff and I discussed that today. I only have 2 slow cookers but both of them will be in use on Thanksgiving Day as will the microwave. I took my own advice and cooked ahead, will thaw and finish! Cooking won’t be my source of stress this year!

We enjoying hearing from you!
