Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk, whole or 2 %
- 1/3 cup salted butter, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract, I use this brand
- Non-stick cooking spray
Directions
Begin by preheating your waffle iron. It will heat up while you mix the waffle batter.
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients; flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk together to blend well and set aside.
Step 2
Heat the milk in the microwave for 60 seconds.
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs then add the heated milk, melted butter and vanilla.
Step 3
Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and mix together well.

Step 4
Spray your waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour waffle batter into the center of the hot waffle iron.

Be careful not to pour too much as it will spill out the sides of the iron when you close the lid. Because all waffle irons are not the same size, you will have to learn the correct amount for your particular waffle iron.
Spread the waffle batter out with a spatula and close the lid to let your waffle cook to a nice golden brown.

Step 5
Once the waffle is done, carefully remove it from the waffle iron and you are ready to pour the next waffle.
Keep Waffles Warm
You can only make one waffle at a time in the waffle iron. So how do you keep them warm?
Turn your oven onto 225°. As your waffles come out of the waffle iron, place them onto a sheet pan you have sitting inside of the oven. Cover the bottom of the sheet pan with waffles before you begin stacking them. Stack in an offset pattern so you can retain the crispy outside of your hot waffles.
Warm waffles for everyone when you are finished making them all.

How To Keep Waffles Warm
- Turn your oven onto 225°. As your waffles come out of the waffle iron, place them onto a cooling rack which has been placed onto a sheet pan. Set the sheet pan in the warm oven. The wire rack allows air to circulate around the waffles to keep them from getting moist and becoming soggy. Warm waffles for everyone when you are finished making them all.
