Ingredients
- 2 cups Bisquick mix
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
Directions
This homemade buttermilk biscuit recipe makes about 6 biscuits. Double the recipe if you are feeding a hungry crowd of folks. These quick biscuits are ready to eat in less than 30 minutes.
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450°.
While the oven is heating, mix up your biscuit dough. In a large bowl, combine Bisquick, buttermilk, sugar, salt, and half the melted butter. Mix until well blended using your hands or a spatula.
The dough will be slightly sticky.
Step 2
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 30 seconds.
Step 3
Roll the dough out using a rolling pin to about 3/4 – 1 inch thick.
Tip
You can sprinkle the dough very lightly with flour to make it roll out easier.
Cut out biscuits using a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
You can also use the rim of a glass if you do not own a biscuit cutter. The size of your biscuits will be determined by the size of the rim of the glass. About 2 to 2 1/2 inches would be ideal.
You could also use a round cookie cutter that is the correct size. You can make larger or smaller biscuits but it will affect the yield of these fluffy biscuits.
Step 4
Place each biscuit onto your prepared baking sheet. Place the baking pan into the preheated oven.
Bake for 10-13 mins or until they have risen and are golden brown.
Step 5
Remove the hot biscuits from the oven and immediately brush with the remaining melted butter. Serve and enjoy!
