Equipment

  • 1 Large Oven Bag
  • 1 Large sheet pan with sides
  • 1 Meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 3 lb. Pork Loin
  • 2 Large Honeycrisp Apples
  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Onion Powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a baking pan with foil and set aside. Add the flour to the oven bag and set aside. Peel, core, and cut up two large apples. I prefer Honeycrisp apples for their sweet flavor.
  • Make deep cuts into your pork loin and place the apple slices into those cuts. Be careful not to cut all the way through the meat. You are creating a pocket to place the apples into.
  • Now place the meat into the prepared oven bag and season. Then drizzle with syrup. Seal the bag according to package directions which include some cautions. Place the pork loin onto the baking pan.
  • Place the baking pan into your preheated oven and bake until the meat is done, about 2 hours. Check the meat every 20 minutes after the first hour to see how fast your oven might be cooking. Pork needs to reach an internal temperature of 160º.
  • Serve and enjoy!
