Our Sunday Dinner Roast Beef recipe brings back memories of Sunday dinners at Momma’s house. I cook it just like I learned from my Mom.
We cooked a whole lot of roast beef with this recipe for my parents 50th anniversary celebration a few years ago. There were no leftovers.
We make roast beef more affordable by getting two meals from our roast. You just need to buy a little bit larger roast to make it happen.
- 2-3 lb. Top Round Roast
- 3 cans beef gravy
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Place your roast into an oven roaster pan which has been either sprayed or lined with foil and sprayed.
- Pour the gravy over the roast.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Cook, covered in preheated oven at 325° for about 3 to 31/2 hours for well done. Use your meat thermometer to check as oven temperatures vary.
- Slice, serve and enjoy!

Crabmeat Stew can be made in the crockpot or on the stove.
Mandarin Orange Salad with Mandarin Orange Dressing
Swedish Meatballs served on noodles is an easy one dish dinner to prepare. Be sure to freeze some meatballs for tomorrow’s dinner.
Our BBQ Meatball Hoagie sandwiches are made with the same meatball recipe from Thursday’s Swedish Meatball dinner. I make enough meatball’s for two meals then freeze the quantity for the second meal.
To make the BBQ Meatballs for the hoagies, just place your frozen meatballs in the crockpot. Pour your favorite BBQ Sauce over them and cook on low for about 2 hours. It doesn’t get much easier than that, does it?

What a great menu you have listed. We love a good roast – I make mine in the slow cooker with cream of mushroom soup. Oh My Gosh! That is one good dinner. Your salad looks so yummy. I am really getting to love a salad with fruit in it. Who can go wrong with pizza! So many great ideas. I will have to copy a few of them!

Yes, you can easily cook the Roast in the crock pot. I have done that too. Depending on how big your roast is, you can probably count on low for 8 hours to get it good and tender.

Well that recipe is easy. Mama’s recipes are usually the best, aren’t they? We love roast beef too and tend to have a roast for at least two meals. I thought I had an easy enough recipe until I saw yours. Pinning!!!

Zan, we had such a nice celebration for their 50th anniversary. They renewed their vows and we prepared a nice ‘sit-down’ meal for all the guests using Momma’s easy recipe. When you’re among friends, it’s ok to ask for seconds, right!

I love making recipes just like mom used to make. And I hate that I never wrote down some of them. Your Sunday Dinner Roast Beef looks so amazing. I have to admit that I’ve never used gravy out of a can. I’ve always make it from scratch – just like mama did. 🙂

You know Momma used to always make her gravy from scratch too but then Campbell’s put all of those recipes in her favorite magazines and she converted! It’s an easy version and comes out supper tender and juicy. Very few ingredients permits the flavor of the meat to shine.
