Supplies for making a Spring Watering Can Wreath

• 5 Silk Pink Rose Bud bouquets  (Dollar Tree)
• 2 Silk Pink Crocus bouquets (Dollar Tree)
• 2 Silk White Gypso bouquets (Dollar Tree)
• 2 Green Berries bouquets (Dollar Tree)
• One Lime Green Plastic Watering Can (Dollar Tree)
• Floral Foam (Dollar Tree)
• 1 Pink and White Stripe Scarf (Dollar Tree)
• 1 Fuscia Pink Vinyl Sheet (OR paint & Stencil OR Stick-on embellishment)

Tools

• Cricut or other cutting machine (Other options listed below)
• Hot Glue Gun
• Hot Glue Sticks
• Wire cutters
• Needle Nose Snips

You can whip up one of these Watering Can Wreaths for your front door in under one hour.

Pink Roses are really a pretty sight in the Springtime so I decided to use those for my front door decor this Spring.

I thought the small pink Crocus looked a lot like little Rose Buds so I decided to use those along with the Pink Rose Buds to give a little bit of contrasting color and size to the bouquets of flowers spilling out of the watering can.

First, I made the Monogram using my Cricut and Cricut Design Space. I closed it without saving it by mistake~ugh! Sorry but I don’t remember the name of the font I selected. The size of the Circle is 5″x5″.  This particular design is super easy to weed quickly and you simply press it on and smooth out the bubbles. It doesn’t get much easier!

If you do not have a cutting machine, use a stencil and paint or pick up a pretty peel-off and stick-on monogram or picture you like from the craft store.

Next, cut a piece of floral foam to fit inside of  your watering can. I cut 2 pieces because the stems of Dollar store floral bouquets are short so I knew I needed the foam to come up pretty high in the watering can. The goal is to make the flowers spill out and the bouquets to be rather full.

Hot Glue the bottom piece of floral foam in first then glue the wider piece of floral foam onto the bottom piece. 

There is no need to cover the foam with fake grass because our bouquet of flowers will be so thick, the inside won’t show.

Except for the first bouquet, each stem is inserted one by one. Use your wire cutters to separate each stem from the bouquet.

I wanted my Watering Can Wreath to look like flowers were spilling from the spout so I added the first bunch in one piece and bent the stems downward as shown above.

Keep adding your main focus flowers one by one and filling in between them with the fillers you selected. I used the pretty white Gypso and those beautiful green berries as my fillers. Because the stems are placed so close together, needle nose snips are handy for bending the stems when my fingers wouldn’t fit.

There is no right or wrong as to how you add the flowers. Just try to manage the heights and be sure to fill in between with your contrasting colors of fillers. Fill your watering can as full as you like.

Last, I found some pretty fuschia and white stripe scarves at Dollar Tree that I am using in my spring decor including to hang this Watering Can Wreath. I simply looped it around and through the handle, then across the front so it would show and around the spout for support. The  two ends are tied in the back in a double knot. The mid section of the knot is hooked onto my door hanger.
