- ยฝ lb. jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 boneless skinless chicken tenderloins, cut into bite size pieces
- 2 pkgs. (1 oz.) Fajita seasoning
- 1 large onion cut into long thin slices
- 1 pkg. sliced Baby Bella fresh mushrooms

- 2 Cups plus 1 Tbsp. water
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Cup Red, Yellow and Green Bell Peppers sliced long, Optional
- 1 (16 oz.) container White Cheese Dip
Making the dish
I like to use my big electric skillet to prepare our Mexican Three Meat House Special recipe. It’s really a one dish dinner and we serve it straight from the skillet.
Step 1
We begin by sautรฉing the mushrooms and onions in about a half stick of melted butter and we sprinkle it all with one package of the fajita seasoning.
If you are adding peppers, do it in this step.
Step 2
Add the lid to the skillet to allow the natural juices to escape from the vegetables. Remove the lid to stir occasionally and then replace. Simmer on medium heat until the vegetables begin to get tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
We will be cooking the meat in the same skillet so don’t clean it just yet. Leave those yummy juices in there!
Cooking the rice
Add 2 cups of water to a medium saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add 1 Tablespoon of fajita seasoning to the boiling water and stir to dissolve. Pour in one cup of rice and stir. Reduce heat to low. Once the water has disappeared from the surface, you can add the lid. Rice takes about 20 minutes to cook.
Prepare the meats while the rice is cooking.
Cooking the meats
Step 1
Add remaining fajita seasoning to a large bowl. Pour in one tablespoon of warm water and stir.
Step 2
Add the chopped meats into the seasoning and toss to coat.
Step 3
Add the seasoned chopped chicken into the skillet and allow it to cook for about 3 to 5 minutes or until almost done. Then add the chopped steak and allow it to cook for about 2 or 3 minutes. Finally add the shrimp and heat through.
The meat cooks quick because it is chopped into bite size pieces.
Step 4
Add the vegetables back into the skillet and stir to blend with the meat.
Serving your Mexican Three Meat House Special
Add a scoop of rice to your serving dishes. top the rice with a heaping helping of your fresh made house special.
Heat the white cheese in the microwave according to package directions. Pour hot cheese over top of each plate full.
Serve and enjoy!
As with most recipes, there are variations you can use. We do not care for spicy food at our house but if your family wants some kick, add it in! I recommend adding a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the marinade and maybe even into the rice water if you like.

I would be all over this! Looks soooo good! I can’t recall seeing anything similar in our local places, but I tend to have tunnel vision on my menu choices, haha.
I’ve never mixed meat with shrimp like this and I don’t think I’ve ever seen this here in Cali. Pinned to try later ๐
This looks delicious. Very familiar with the three meat special where we go.
