Iron Skillet Parmesan Crusted Salmon
Pan-seared Parmesan Italian Crusted Salmon is a simple and easy dish to whip up in your iron skillet.
You only need a few simple ingredients from the grocery store to make this quick weeknight dinner idea. Serve this meal for special occasions too!

Cooking in the iron skillet somehow gives food an even better flavor in my humble opinion.
Iron skillets are good for more than just making cornbread. There is just something special about the outcome of the food when it is prepared in an iron skillet.
This meal is absolutely just as amazing as it looks! I don’t know why we don’t cook salmon more often, it’s wonderful.
Our Parmesan Italian Crusted Salmon dinner is perfect for special occasions. Celebrations like Valentine’s, anniversaries, birthdays, and such when we prefer to stay home are a good time to make these kinds of meals.ย

Only four ingredients are needed for this quick and easy seafood entree. Chances are excellent that if you keep a well-stocked pantry you may have all four on hand now.ย
Ingredients
- Salmon
- Packaged Italian dressing mix
- Grated fresh Parmesan Cheese
- Olive Oil
Iron Skillet Parmesan Italian Crusted Salmon
Only four ingredients needed for this lightly crusted Parmesan Italian flavored Salmon made in the Iron Skillet.
Ingredients
- 1 large piece of Salmon, cut into 4 pieces
- 1 pk. Italian dressing mix
- ยฝ Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 2 Tbsp. Robust olive oil
Instructions
Mix one packet of the Italian dressing mix with ½ cup (more if desired) grated parmesan cheese
Coat the salmon with the seasoning mix
Heat the Iron skillet with the olive oil on high heat. Do not walk away!
Once the oil is hot, cook the salmon skin side down first for about 2 minutes to make it crispy and sealed
Then turn the burner down to medium high and continue to cook another 4-5 minutes before flipping
Turn the salmon over using a firm spatula and cook on the other side for about 3-4 minutes until it is done to your preference.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
The amount of time it takes for your salmon to get done will depend on how thick your salmon is. Thicker salmon will take longer, thinner will cook quicker.
I prefer Robust Olive Oil for the flavor but you can use what you have on hand.

- Baked in the oven
- Broiled in the oven
- Grilled on a charcoal or gas grill
- Cedar plank in the oven
- Cedar plank on the grill
- Smoked
- Fried
- Pan Seared

That looks so good! We all love salmon, but I don’t make it as often as I should. This is a great inspiration to put some on the grocery list! Thanks for sharing at Throwback Thursday!
