How To Make DIY Monogrammed Valentine Gift Bags
Our supply list tells you this is a fun craft!
- White paper gift bags (like these)
- Several sheets of decorative craft paper
- Pom Pom trim (found in the fabric department)
- Pacon Dazzle Self Adhesive letters (Hobby Lobby)
- Sewing bias tape (fabric department)
- Sewing Ric Rac ribbon (fabric department)
- E6000 Glue
- Elmer’s Glue
- Glue Stick
First, measure, mark and cut your craft paper according to the size you want on your gift bag.
The craft paper adds a pretty touch to the front of the bag but it also creates a pocket for a card to be inserted.
Next, measure and cut the bias tape trim. It will secure easily using Elmer’s glue. The bias tape just slips right over the edge of the paper so a light bead of glue along the both sides will suffice.
If you are using the ric rac ribbon, you can glue that on at this time.
Now we will add the pom pom fringe to the top edge of the bag for some flair. I used E6000 because it holds quite well and the pom pom fabric requires a good glue.
I’m sure you also keep clothespins and paper clips in your crafting area. They work great for holding anything in place while the glue dries.
Add a bead of Elmer’s glue around the edges of your paper, turn it over and carefully place it onto the bag. Press the edges down firmly to secure. Allow the glue to dry.
The Pacon Dazzle Self Adhesive letters I found at Hobby Lobby are very easy to use. Determine your placement, dab the back with a glue stick and press down! Such an easy monogram!
I love having the little card pocket on the front of the bag. I tucked in one of our Free Printable Valentine’s Cards which you can find here.
