DIY Easy No Sew Tailgate Party Banner
Our DIY Easy No Sew Tailgate Party Banner will only take you a short time to make but it will bring joy to your tailgate party guests for years to come!
We love Football Friday nights at our house! I made this easy No Sew Tailgate Party Banner in our high school team colors!
Supplies:
- 1/4 to 1/2 yard fabric in your team colors
- 1 pkg. Heat Bond
- String of choice
- 1 sheet copy paper
Directions:
Make your pattern using an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of copy paper.
Fold the paper in half and draw the lines to shape a triangle using a ruler as a straight edge. The folded edge of the paper will be the center of your pattern, as shown.
Unfold the paper and cut the shape of the triangle out.
Fold your triangle over onto the uncut half of the paper.
Trace along the edge of the cut side to create the other half of the template.
Now, cut the other half. Your template will be diamond shaped.
I use my rotary cutter to cut out the fabric. If you fold the fabric in half, you will be able to cut our 2 banners at once.
To determine how many pieces I would need for my banner, I made a couple of pieces. Then I strung those pieces and took it to my car to gauge how many more pieces I would need.
Our team colors are black and white so I selected contrasting fabrics for my banner.
Iron the fabric so there will be no wrinkles.
Fold the fabric in half and iron the crease.
Cut the heat bond to fit the fabric.Â
Leave enough space at the fold to allow a gap for threading the string you will use to hang your banner.
I measured the width of my string so I could be sure to leave a big enough gap.
Follow the instructions on the heat bond package to apply.
After you iron down the heat bond and peel off the paper, fold over the top half of the flag and iron again so the two sides of the flag will stick together.
Thread your string through the gaps you created at the top and you’re all done!
Enjoy your No Sew Tailgating Banner!
