Crockpot Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

You can make Chicago Style pizza in your Crockpot at home in your own kitchen. This easy homemade pizza recipe is a great way to make a meal at home while multi-tasking around the house.

My Crockpot is one of my favorite kitchen tools because it is such a time saver in the kitchen. I like to cook this easy deep dish pizza recipe on the weekend while I am reading a book and doing laundry.

Ingredients

You can cook pizza in the Crockpot with simple ingredients that are easy to find at your local grocery store. No specialty ingredients are needed.

How to make Crockpot pizza. get the Crockpot ready with nonstick spray
  • 1 can of pizza dough (located near the canned biscuits in the grocery store)
  • About 1/3 cup of pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz. pepperoni or 1/2 lb. crumbled cooked Italian sausage

Prep time/5 minutes Cook time/ 1 1/2 hr. Yield/4 servings

Directions

Step 1

Lightly spray the inside of your Crockpot with non-stick spray or line the inside with one of these disposable Crockpot liners.

Step 2

Open the tube of pizza dough and fold it in half, from top to bottom to make a double thickness. Here comes that Chicago style pizza crust you love so much.

Step 3

Now press the dough into the bottom of the Slow cooker. Press and stretch the dough up onto the sides as well. Work it with your fingers. You can spray your fingers with non-stick spray to make this process easier.

Step 4

Pour the pizza sauce onto the dough and spread it evenly across the crust. Then add the cheese and meat.

Recipe Meat Variations:

Skip the pepperoni and substitute any of these meat options instead

  • 1/2 lb. of cooked and drained Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb. cooked and drained ground beef
  • 8 oz. Canadian bacon
  • 8 oz. cooked, drained and chopped bacon
  • about 1 cup of shredded Rotisserie chicken

Step 5

Place the lid onto the Crockpot and turn onto the High setting for about 80 to 90 minutes. The house will smell delicious while your pizza is cooking in the Crockpot.

Step 6

Carefully remove your Chicago style pepperoni pizza from the Crockpot onto a cutting board. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
