Cookies and Cocoa Christmas Party
Our Cookies and Cocoa Christmas Party was so easy to plan and the Snowman Milk Jars made the party table more festive.
One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is enjoying time with our grandchildren. We recently hosted a Cookies & Cocoa Christmas Party which was such fun to plan and such a pleasure to enjoy.
We followed the party food with a couple of favorite Christmas movies. Everyone has their favorite Christmas movie and the holiday season just wouldn’t be the same without movie parties.

First
The first thing I did to plan our Christmas party was shop Oriental Trading for all my party supplies! Cyber shopping is always fun and where else could you possibly find such a wide variety of party-theme supplies in one place?
What could possibly be more fun than a Cookies & Cocoa Christmas party? Cookies plus Cocoa or milk along with a good Christmas movie is all we need for some holiday spirit.
Party table
I used a slow cooker for my hot cocoa on our party table which makes self-serve really easy. I sat it on top of a crate that I used in my farmhouse fall tablescape here.
Our party table is dressed in layers first with the ivory tablecloth, then the pleated skirt and topped with a snowflake paper runner, all from Oriental Trading.
Food
We had lots of goodies to add to our cocoa. A day ahead, I made some favorite cocoa treats like chocolate-dipped spoons and chocolate-dipped marshmallows with candy cane sticks for stirring.
There was lots of candy including chocolate, cinnamons, butterscotch, and more. I love the cinnamons in my cocoa! We gave everyone a little red treat box full of candy to take home with them.
I also provided Stag Stir Sticks I found at Oriental Trading for those who like their cocoa plain.
A cookies and cocoa Christmas party is a great way to add fun to Christmas movie night at home with family. Also, see the Christmas movie night snack bar we enjoyed one year.
Our Snowman Milk Jars were a big hit and they are so easy to make. Aren’t they just the cutest? I ordered my Clear Glass Milk Bottles from Oriental Trading.
You could fill these with some Grinch Punch instead of milk if you like.
How To Make Snowman Milk Jars
- Glass milk jars
- Small pom poms
- Fabric for scarves
- Glue (I used E6000)
I just happen to have a plaid flannel gown in my craft stash. It was a thrift store find and I plan to make a pillow slipcover with it. It’s a long sleeve gown and now missing one of the sleeves which was sacrificed for our snowman scarves.
Glue the tiny pom poms onto the front of the milk jar and allow it to dry.
While the glue is drying, cut your fabric strips about 10″ long.
Tie your scarves around the neck of the milk jars and you are done. Such a simple little craft but it brings a nice wow factor to your Cocoa & Cookies Christmas Party.
Use a funnel to pour the milk into the bottles but wait until you’re ready to serve.
I topped each Snowman Milk Jar with a pretty Christmas Cookie and then slipped a Red Snowflake Paper Straw found at Oriental Trading into each. Wouldn’t Santa just love to be served his milk in one of these Snowman Milk Jars on Christmas?
These are some of the party games we played. Family-friendly games are a must for a successful Christmas party.
