Our Kranks Christmas Movie Date Night Party
Let me share why we love this movie so much! We are empty nesters who can totally relate to the bite of an empty home on Christmas morning after the kids are all grown and gone. Oh, we are not sad! We have the right to plan a vacation to the Caribbean during the holidays if we want to, that’s the beauty of it. The escapades of Luther and Nora Krank are a relatable hoot! Plus, you have got to love a Christmas movie with Cheech Marin playing a police officer!
My hubby and I have a tradition of going to the movies during the Christmas season. Our first viewing of Christmas With The Kranks was one of our Christmas movie dates. We love watching it at home now every year during what we like to call ‘Christmas Movie Season.’
We have seen the Kranks so many time now, we have started asking each other “Did you notice this or that?” so we created a little movie trivia complete with answers, just for fun and we are sharing it with you.

Essentials for A Christmas Movie Date Night at Home
- A good movie
- Cozy blankets to snuggle under
- Comfy pillows on the sofa
- Popcorn, Candy and Beverage
I made our date night into a little party for two by breaking out some of my crystal bowls to serve the popcorn and candy plus a couple of fun water goblets for our beverages. Making Coke floats helped to create our party atmosphere also.
How To Make A Coke Float
Nothing could possibly be much easier than Coke floats! Simply place a couple scoops of ice cream into your glass. Then slowly pour the coke over it. Slow pouring is key because it gets frothy fast which is what you want. Stick a fun straw in and enjoy!
Seriously, Coke floats are a cheap and easy party beverage. Cherry Coke makes a tasty float treat!
How could anything be more fun than a cozy Christmas movie date night at home? There are so many wonderful classic Christmas movies to watch and the best place for that is on the sofa snuggled up under a cozy warm blanket with your sweetheart. Pencil in popcorn and movie candy on your grocery list this week and plan a nice movie date night at home!

Coke floats are one of my favorites! I usually use Diet Coke (I’m not sure why, it really makes no sense)
Hubby and I have never seen this movie, but it is going on my “To Watch” list right now. I’m so glad you shared it with us.

Ha ha ha, that movie is so funny. And how fun that you know it so well from making a tradition out of it! I love the date night ideas and makes me want to curl under a blanket with the hubs and a good movie. Oh men, sounds cozy!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

What a great date night in! This will be our first year waking up on Christmas morning with an empty nest. All the kids and grandkids come over for lunch and then we open gifts so we won’t be alone for very long. 🙂 Christmas movies are so much fun to watch and there are several that I can’t miss each year. My husband and I need to recreate your Christmas movie party real soon. Those Coke floats look so good!
