Free Printable Letter To Santa

Help your child write their letter to Santa with our free printable template. The questions are already there, you just help your child fill in the answers. Older children who can read and write won’t need help. But you get to read what they are asking for and how they have reflected on their year.

A letter to Santa Claus is a fun activity for younger children to enjoy a holiday tradition with a little help from their parents. It’s a pretty important business to younger children to convey their Christmas wishes to the big guy.

You will need a Santa letterhead which is also a free download for you. Write the response from Santa to your child. Be sure to include their name. You may want to say to your child that their name is on the nice list.

How To Get A Letter Postmarked from the North Pole

The USPS has a Greetings from the North Pole Post Office program which offers the following instructions for getting a letter postmarked from the North Pole sent to your child.

What you need

Santa template letter, free download
Santa letterhead, free download
2 Envelopes
2 postage stamps

Be sure to mail the letter by December 10 to allow Santa’s elves plenty of time to handle all that mail.

Step 1

Have the child write a letter to Santa and place it in an envelope addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole.

Step 2

Write a personalized response to the child’s letter and sign it “From Santa.”

Step 3

Insert both letters into an envelope, and address it to the child.

Be sure your children do not see you include the response from Santa into the envelope.

Step 4

Add the return address: SANTA, NORTH POLE, to the envelope.

Step 5

Ensure a First-Class Mail stamp is affixed to the envelope.

Step 6

Place the complete envelope into a larger envelope, with appropriate postage, and address it to:

Print Instructions

Print on a regular 8 1/2 x 11 size printer paper. Your home printer should work just fine.

Both the letter to Santa and the Santa letterhead will print in color unless you select black and white when you print. For best results, be sure your printer has ink.

You can have these printed at your office supply store like Staples or Office Depot also.

Print one for each child, as many as you need. There is no limit to the number you can print.

A fun idea when writing Dear Santa letters is to make it into a fun family activity to look forward to every Christmas season as your kids are growing up. Save their letters to share with them when they get older. Good memories are homemade.
