Vanilla Milkshake with Sprinkles Best Ever Summer Dessert
Use my simple recipe to make your own Vanilla Milkshake at home. There is no better summer dessert than ice cream in any form.

The quintessential summer dessert is hands down, ice cream in any form. The whirl and hum of Ice Cream Churns have been heard for ions.
Thankfully ice cream churns are electric now and come in all sizes and shapes. One thing remains constant though, they crank out the very best summer desserts!
You might say we cranked it up a notch by adding melted milk chocolate-filled candy sprinkles to the rim of our milkshake glasses! Plus I really did add gobs of whipped cream with a cherry on top!

The Best Part of This Summer Dessert
It is super easy to make at home with few ingredients!
There are candy sprinkles involved too! Candy sprinkles added to dessert automatically gave you the feeling of having your own little party!
I also use candy sprinkles to decorate the tops of these Strawberry Cake Mix cookies and on these Halloween Corn Chip Bars.
How to make Chocolate Rimmed Glasses with candy sprinkles
Place a ramekin, like this one, upside down inside of a large bowl. Make sure your glass rim fits comfortably into the ramekin.
No ramekin? No problem. It’s a nice little trick but you can still melt chocolate and dip the glass rims in it. Use whatever bowl you have that will fit the purpose. It means you might use more chocolate chips in the process.

Be sure to take into account how deep you want the chocolate rim on your glasses to be when selecting the bowl you will be using to melt the chocolate in.

Printable recipe below
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup rainbow sprinkles
- ¼ cup mini-chocolate chips
- 3 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1 tsp. real vanilla extract
- 1/3 Cup. whole milk
Garnish Ingredients
- Whipped cream
- Rainbow sprinkles
- Maraschino cherries
Making the milkshakes
Before you begin making the milkshakes, prepare your glasses following the instructions below for making the chocolate and candy sprinkle rims. After coating the glass rims, sit the glasses in the freezer to chill, and then make the milkshakes.
Add the ice cream, vanilla extract, and milk to a blender and blend until smooth.
Add a little additional milk to reach the desired consistency, if desired.
To serve, pour the milkshake into the chilled glasses and top with whipped cream, additional sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry.
Instructions for decorating glass rim with chocolate and candy sprinkles
Step 1
Pour rainbow sprinkles onto a shallow plate and set aside.

Step 2
Place a small ramekin, topside down, inside a small bowl wide enough to fit the top of each serving glass as shown.

Step 3
Pour the mini-chocolate chips around the ramekin. (If ramekin is unavailable, add one-half cup chocolate chips directly to the bowl.). Microwave on 50% power at 15-second intervals, just until the chips melt, approximately 2-3 minutes.
Remove from microwave and carefully break up any remaining solid pieces of chocolate with a fork.

Step 4
Dip the tops of each glass into the melted chocolate.

Then roll the chocolate-coated edge in the rainbow sprinkles. Roll each glass edge until uniformly coated. Turn upright and set aside to dry.
You can sit the prepared glasses in the freezer while you prepare the milkshake.
