Pumpkin Mousse Ingredients

I skip the pumpkin pie filling and use pumpkin puree instead for just the right amount of pumpkin flavor in this fluffy dessert.

Some recipes for light and airy mousse use pudding. This one made from scratch skips the pudding. I also make my whipping cream from scratch and skip the cool whip.

How long does pumpkin mousse last?

With proper storage, your light and fluffy dessert should last about 2 or 3 days. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or store in an airtight container. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

Step 2

Add the pumpkin puree, cream cheese, pumpkin spice, vanilla, remaining maple syrup and half & half to a large bowl. Beat just until completely blended.

Step 3

Pour your prepared pumpkin mixture into the dessert bowls you have chosen. If using parfait glasses, spoon mousse carefully into each one to keep it really pretty and maintain the fluffy texture.

Cover tightly and place into the refrigerator to chill pumpkin mousse for at least one hour.

Step 4

Remove the creamy pumpkin mousse from the refrigerator and garnish as desired. A dollop of your delicious homemade whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon is perfect.

Topping your mouse with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon and nice gingersnap cookies makes a nice presentation.
