Easy Oven BBQ Ribs Recipe
This recipe for oven BBQ Ribs gives away the secret to cooking tender tasty fall-off-the-bone pork ribs.
Slow and low is the way to go when you want to cook tender and delectable meat. In this case, we cook baby back ribs in the oven. But save this tip, cook meat slow and low in the oven, Crockpot, or even on the grill to retain flavor and get a nice tender dish.
This Not Quite Mississippi Crockpot Roast recipe is another good example of slow and low tender, delicious meat.

Ingredients
Rack of Pork Ribs:
You can cook Baby Back Ribs or St. Louis Style Ribs which are a little bigger but will also come out nice and tender when cooked slow and low. I do not cook country style ribs this way. Those are individual ribs, not a rack of ribs and they have a lot more meat. I do use country style ribs to season this pot of homemade soup.
BBQ Sauce:
My family loves Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce but you can use any brand of your preference. The BBQ sauce gets basted on after the ribs are done. We generally prefer Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ Sauce but it comes in a variety of flavors. I use Honey for this recipe.
Grill Mates Seasoning:
The Grill Mates Brown Sugar Bourbon seasoning gives these slow cooked ribs a fabulous flavor. It’s one of our favorite meat seasonings. Use this seasoning on most any meat including sprinkle a little on top of your burgers before you grill them.
Onion Powder:
Onion powder is a great seasoning for so many meats and even side dishes. If you enjoy the flavor of sweet onions but don’t actually care for onions, use onion powder for seasoning. It add a slight hint of sweetness with using sugar.
Kitchen Tools Used
Directions
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 275°. Line your baking pan with foil for easier cleanup. I also like to spray the foil with non-stick spray.
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Yours may not have a membrane as many are already removed. To remove membrane, catch a corner with a sharp knife and lift. Then pull so that you remove the entire membrane in one piece. Sometimes it helps if you use a paper towel to hold onto the membrane while pulling.

Step 2. Place your ribs onto the prepared sheet pan with the meaty side up. Sprinkle heartily with Grill Mates Brown Sugar Bourbon seasoning followed by the Onion powder.
Step 3. Cover tightly with foil and place into the preheated oven. Set your kitchen timer for 2 hours. You will check your ribs at the 2 hour mark but expect it to possibly take about 3 hours to cook one rack of ribs.

Step 4. Remove the ribs from the oven and very carefully pour off excess liquid. I pour it into a bowl.

Now, baste the ribs with your BBQ sauce and place them back into the oven uncovered for about 10 minutes. You can bake on the BBQ sauce for about 10 minutes or use the broiler so you get a little char on your ribs. If you use the broiler, keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.

It is not true that you need a smoker to cook good BBQ ribs. You can cook the best ever BBQ ribs in the oven. The trick is slow and low for tender juicy meat.

Cook this easy BBQ ribs recipe for a weeknight meal or special occasions. Great for summer get-togethers or family celebrations.
Can these ribs be cooked ahead?
Yes. To cook a rack or several racks of ribs ahead, follow the recipe except for basting with BBQ sauce. After your ribs are cooked, wrap them tightly in foil and store cooled until ready to add the sauce. Do the basting and broiling step when you are almost ready to serve them so they heat up and get sauced at the same time.
What to serve with BBQ Ribs
Serve your Oven BBQ Ribs with some Homemade mashed potatoes or Homestyle Oven Baked Fries and even some Crockpot Macaroni and Cheese that can be cooking while the ribs are in the oven.
