DIY Dollar Store Spring Craft
Our Spring Sign is another easy Dollar store spring craft project that anyone can do no matter your skill level.
If you have visited our DIY home decor and craft projects before, you know I love a whimsical look with bright fun colors. I decided to go with a whimsical look with my new Spring sign this year.
Supplies
- 6 (3.5×5″) picture frames (Dollar Tree)
- 12 packs pastel color buttons (Dollar Tree)
- 1 sheet black poster board (Dollar Tree)
- Valspar Project Perfect Sumptuous Purple spray paint
- Valspar Project Perfect Frosty Berry spray paint
- Rust-o-leum 2x cover Seaside spray paint
- Glue stick
- Elmer’s glue
- Pink polka dot craft paper
- Yellow polka dot craft paper
Begin by taking the frames apart so you can spray paint them. I shared a slow motion video of the Frosty Berry paint on my Instagram. Do you love the fun of slow motion too?
While the paint is drying, go ahead and cut out your pretty craft paper. I used the back of the frame as my template. Just use a pencil to draw the line and cut one piece of pretty paper for each frame.
Repeat the above steps with the black poster paper. This will be the backing for the craft paper.
Now using the glue stick, turn the pretty side of the paper over and add glue. Attach to the black piece you cut from the poster board.
Now, I played with the lettering in each color. The buttons are not glued down in the photo above. This step is necessary to get a good idea of which color you want where and exactly how to achieve the lettering with the placement of the buttons.
NOTE: You could glue your lettering (buttons) in after putting the frames back together or before. If you put the frames together and then do glue the buttons, it’s easier to manage the edges.
Just a little dab of Elmer’s glue is sufficient for each button. It holds well on the craft paper.
I decided to use my new Spring Sign on my dining table this year. Originally I had intended to use it on the mantle but I wanted to have my bunny swing behind it. I love how it looks like the bunnies are swinging right into spring.
Some dollar store craft projects are just more fun than others. This one is both easy and fun. I love how it turned out. This one is just a matter of spray paint, cut and glue paper. Such a fun dollar store craft.

Those are so cute! I remember seeing them on a mantle set up you had with another post but I hadn’t really thought about HOW you put them together. I am amazed that this was a dollar store craft. Pinned.
