How To Add The Fahrenheit Symbol Using The Keyboard
Do you want to know how to type the Fahrenheit symbol using your keyboard to your recipes wherever you may be typing them?
This one is easy. I don’t know about you but I really like easy stuff! While I didn’t learn this trick in college, what I did learn there was how to appreciate any little tricks that make life easier, like this one!
The Fahrenheit symbol is also known as the degree symbol or Celsius symbol. This works exactly the same no matter your reason for using this little symbol (°)
How to Add The Fahrenheit Symbol Using Your Keyboard
Hold down the ‘alt’ button on your keyboard. While holding down the ‘alt’ key, press the numbers 0-1-7-6
All done. That is all there is to it.
Great tip. I didn’t know how to do that, so thanks for sharing this how-to on small victories sunday linkup.
It’s amazing how many symbols are in the ALT Keys.
I so needed to know how to do this. Thanks for sharing this on Merry Monday. Pinned to my blogging board.
Me too, Erlene! I thought I should definitely share this information!
Great tip! I’m tired of typing out “350 degrees F” LOL. Thanks for posting it on The Weekend Social
Shirley, how did you know I needed this? I am so irritated every time I have to type in “degrees”. Thanks for this much needed tip.
Glad you found it helpful, El. I figured if I did, others may as well 🙂
WOW! So simple! I’ve always just resorted to writing “degrees” LOL Thank you, Shirley!
Wow! Thank you! I knew there was a way I just couldn’t figure it out without Word.
Awesome tip! This will definitely come in handy. PINNED 🙂

Love it! I have always wondered how to do that with out going into a wingding font or something. Pinning this for later, cause I am sure I will forget!
Oh my goodness that is simple! Thanks for coming by #foodiefridays and linking up!
Isn’t it though! I really do love easy stuff too. I thought others might like to know, if they didn’t already.
Good to know!!! I’ve always just typed it!
Christine, I have done that for years but heck, this is just so stinking easy. Thanks for stopping by.
Such a great tip! I’ll have to be sure to start doing this for my recipes
Isn’t it easy though! Glad you found it helpful too.
LOL, I guess I could have searched this thing before. I always put the word (degrees) and no symbol! Thank you Shirley!
Glad you found it helpful, Zan. I have typed out the word as well. This is just so easy to do, now we know.
That’s good to know. I’m using my daughter’s macbook this morning and all you have to do is press option (alt) and 0. 350º
Good to know Alli. I’m a tried and true Windows customer but I know there are others who use the Mac also.
