How To Make Instant Pot Chicken Ranch Wraps

We begin by cooking the chicken in our Instant Pot. While the chicken is cooking we will fry the bacon in a skillet on the stove. Lunch will be ready very soon.

Begin by pouring the water in the the Instant Pot and place the metal trivet which came with the unit in the bottom of the pot.

Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper then place them on top of the trivet and lock the lid into place. Set the pressure valve to “Sealing” and select the “Manual” button on the highest setting. Now set your cook time to 9 minutes.

Bacon frying in a skillet

While the chicken is cooking, fry the bacon in a skillet on the stove. I like to cook bacon on medium heat and turn occasionally, until cooked through which takes about 7 or 8 minutes. Place the bacon on a paper towel lined dish to drain when done then set aside.

When cook time on the Instant Pot® is finished, allow pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes Then do a quick release for any remaining pressure. Turn the unit off and the remove lid. Transfer your chicken to a cutting board. Cut into small bite size chunks.

Pro Tip: If you have time, allow the chicken to rest for about 5 minutes before cutting which helps retain juices.

The purpose of the Instant Pot® is make a meal quicker. Let’s say you don’t have an Instant Pot, no problem. Cook the chicken in a skillet.

Chop the chicken first into bite size pieces so they will cook quicker. Then season your chicken. Add about a half cup of water to a large skillet and bring to a low boil then place your chicken into it. Put the lid on the skillet and allow to cook at a low boil until the chicken is cooked through. We are skipping the oil on purpose.

If you want your chicken to brown ever so slightly, remove the lid and allow the water to boil out. Toss the chicken in the hot skillet for a couple minutes until the outside is brown.

Notes

Allowing the chicken to rest a few minutes after removing from the Instant Pot will keep the meat more juicy.

You may use whichever flavor wraps you prefer.
