DIY Paper Bag Christmas Countdown Calendar with Printable Christmas Bucket List

This project has several moving parts including a free printable set of Christmas Bucket List things to do which are the perfect surprise insert for our bags.

Supplies

This is officially my first Cricut project so woohoo. I chose something easy like making a set of numbers. I considered myself to be venturing out by using three different vinyl sheets with one of those being the gold glitter.

The first thing I did was to create a set of numbers in Cricut Design Space

My font is Cricut Sans and the numbers are about 2″ tall each. It a good first project for beginners like myself who are learning their way around Cricut Design Space.

Free Printable Activities for your DIY Advent Calendar

Next I created a Christmas Bucket List with lots of fun things to do that we all look forward to each Christmas Season. Then I created some free printables which are easy to cut out and insert into each bag.

Scroll down for each of the four printables. Use those ideas which work for your family. There may be some you won’t do and others you will.

I also added candy canes, Hershey Kisses and those cute little lump of coal candy’s in random bags.

Then I got busy making the bags. Once the fronts were decorated, I selected specific things to do from the printable bucket list that pertain to my family plans. See the one minute video below for the step by step process.

Some of the ideas are so easy to strategically insert into dates you have made plans for like going to the Christmas Parade or visiting a Christmas Tree Farm and decorating the tree.

Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores. The stick on embellishments I found there were half price and so adorable. I love the festive touch they add to the bags especially the one’s with a touch of sparkle.

The little red ribbon added a nice finishing touch to seal the bag from prying eyes.

Grab your Free Printables below! Feel free to print all four or just the one’s you need and come back next year to print again! The link to print is under each one.

These print on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper and can be printed on card stock as well. I like the added element of surprise by printing them on paper and folding each one as it goes into the bag. The unfolding process just adds to the fun of expectations.
