I just saw this in my twitter feed and had to come have a look. What a great post to showcase Macon and the Cherry Blossom Festival! Macon doesn’t always get its due regards when talking about the charm of some old Georgia cities.
We have just had to make some travel plan changes and are now spending two nights in Macon early next week. I know we will miss most of the festivities but your notes will come in handy as we look for places to eat while seeing the sights. Bloggers are the best for useful info!! Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by Jane! Glad I was able to be helpful for your visit to Macon. Enjoy your stay. Please be sure to come back and tell me about your visit 🙂
All I could think of reading your post with all this great info was Cherry Blossom. I mean really? Cherry Blossom? There is lots of white around me too, but those are not Cherry Blossoms :(. Enjoy it!
You guys are still snowed in up north, I know. Sooner or later, you will get some real spring weather. The cherry trees are actually pink but it is so pale, it looks white. They are not all in bloom right now but will be in a matter of days as long as their isn’t a cold snap. The blooms don’t last long but they are beautiful when they are out.
Beautiful place – and what a wonderful experience. Ah – someday I want to see all of that beauty.
I know you are waaaay over on the west coast, Renee so that is a long journey. The old historic south is a beautiful place, much more slow paced and wonderful living.
This post is full of great information, Shirley, thank you! I LOVE cherry blossoms – never mind that I would need to triple my allergy medication to attend this festival LOL Still gorgeous!
Although I do love Spring, the pollen is not my friend either. It is just great when that time is over and we can simply enjoy the great outdoors!
Gorgeous pictures of those Cherry trees! If I were in Georgia I’d probably be a vendor at that craft fair. Enjoy your time with your family.
We would certainly love to have you! The craft fair is a huge event, make plans to come next year, that would be awesome!
This post makes me miss home! Wish I was there!
We look forward to the Cherry Blossom Festival every year in this area. Have you ever attended?
