Brown Sugar & Pineapple Glazed Ham is such a traditional recipe and I don’t know about you but I’m a big fan of tradition.
We usually prepare a ham for special occasions like Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas when the stovetop is full. That’s why this one is a Crockpot recipe!
Made from Scratch Side Dishes to serve with Easter Dinner:
- Butt portion ham, about 7 lbs. for us
- 1 can (15 oz.) sliced Pineapple in heavy syrup
- 3/4 Cup brown sugar
- 9-12 whole cherries in syrup
Printable Recipe Below
Drain the pineapple juice and reserve.
Blend the brown sugar and pineapple juice together.

Trim the excess fat from the ham. I like to rinse my ham prior to cooking. Place flat side down in the Crockpot. Pour the brown sugar and pineapple glaze over the ham.

Use toothpicks to place the pineapple rings all over the ham. Do not add the cherries at this time. Those pineapple rings add a yummy flavor along with the juices to make this a true Brown Sugar and Pineapple Glazed ham.
Set the Crockpot to low and cook for about 5 hours.
Ham is done when internal temperature reaches 160° Once the ham is done, use the tips of the toothpicks to hold the cherries in place. Carefully lift from the Crockpot onto a serving platter.
After slicing my Brown sugar and Pineapple ham, I plate it onto a serving platter. Because everyone always wants a pineapple and more than one cherry, you may want to serve more in a side dish.
- 1 Butt portion ham (about 7 lbs.)
- 1 can (15 oz.) sliced Pineapple in heavy syrup
- ¾ Cup brown sugar
- 9-12 whole cherries in syrup
- Trim excess fat from ham.
- Rinse ham and place flat side down in slow cooker
- Drain juice from pineapples into a bowl.
- Blend brown sugar with pineapple juice and pour over the ham allowing excess to stay in the pot.
- Use toothpicks to hold pineapple rings into place all over the ham.
- Cook on low about 5 hours or until internal temperature reaches 160º.
- Place cherries onto the toothpick tops.
- Serve and enjoy!

We enjoy this meal also… and the crockpot sure helps… comes out moist and done just right. It has been a while since we had this… it may be time to do it again. 🙂

This is my favorite way to make ham. I love the flavor that the pineapples give to it. I always loved the cherries, too, but apparently everyone else in my family has an aversion to cherries! Thanks for sharing with us at Snickerdoodle, Shirley. Pinning & Sharing.
