Simple Summer Mantle Decor
This post is sponsored by At Home. However allย opinions of the products and the design of ย our simple summer mantle decor are my own.
Our Simple Summer Mantle Decor is mix of summer whites, purple hydrangea and pops of blue with a theme of God and Country.ย
Weย haveย teamed up with At Home Stores and 7 otherย talented bloggers to bring you a Summer Tour of Homes as we share how we ย bring summer indoors. We also haveย an opportunity for you to win a $50 gift card to the At Home store!ย
Be sure to visit all 7 homes but first take a peek at my Simple Summer Mantel Decor.ย
Step into my Den and take a peek at our Simple Summer Mantle Decor.
It’s so very hot here in the deep south, we don’t spend too much time outside in the summer. Instead, it’s pleasure to bring summer indoors with summer decor. After more than 35 years of housekeeping, you’d think I had plenty of home decor and I do but styles change and sometimes we just need a nice change so I was thrilled to participate in the At Home Challenge to bring summer indoors!
First things first, I shopped my home for summer pieces which would fit my theme. After taking stock, I knewย I needed a couple of anchor pieces for the hearth. I wanted white because I’ve used shades of red and blue in the rest of the den which I will show you soon, so check back!
With a plan in mind, I headed out to the At Home store, grabbed a shopping cart andย entered my happy place.
What screams summer more than pretty purple hydrangea blooms?ย
I spotted these beautiful giant silk hydrangea on the floral isle and just had to have them! They are so big, I only needed three.ย
Take a closer look at my new white chippy porcelain vase.ย I love the versatile color and the details.
This print of a classic cover from theย ย Saturday Evening Post June 16, 1917 is entitled Necessary Height. ย A favorite artist from American history, Normanย Rockwell seems to be showing us a couple of boys ย indulging in pretend play during WWI, with one playing a recruiter, (notice the โrecruiting posterโ)ย and the other sweating his yet to be reached height requirement.ย
We picked this piece up from an estate sale a while back and I just knew it fit perfect with myย theme and the frame matches our boat paddle.
I just adore my newย pair of chippy metal cylinder candle holders in blue. ย The candles are battery powered which I love. They blend well next to my small blue glass milk bottles, don’t you think?
We’ve had ourย Lion and the Lamb figure for many years and used it in various places around the house.ย
I found the Nothing is Impossible figure among a large selection of tabletop signs inย the At Home store. It was exactly what I needed to create balance and continue my theme.
I placed a single floral stem in each blue milk glass bottles, which came from ย Cracker Barrel, ย to match the cream colored candles and add that pop of color to my summer mantle decor.
This white wood with a metal roof gazebo lantern stole my heart the instant I laid eyes on it!
We’ve had the boat paddle for a long time. It was a vacation purchase. We tend to enjoy home decor shopping when we are vacationing. Do you do that?
You know what it feels like when you are shopping for something and you don’t know what it is but you know, you’ll know it when you see it?ย Well that is what I experienced with this gazebo lantern. I actually had something else in my shopping cart and put it back.
I also picked up a package of small natural orbs to place around the battery powered candle in the gazebo lantern.
We picked up the large framed print while on vacation last year and it’s found a permanent home above the mantle.ย ย This piece illustrates Isiah 40:31, one of my husband’s favorite verses. We took it down for fall and Christmas decorating.
Be sure to stop back soonย for a peek at the rest of our Summer Den Decor. Here in the deep south, the heat of the summer will be with us until late September. I’ll be quite ready to switch to fall decor by then and looking forward to it.ย

Norman Rockwell did such a great job of providing some form of entertainment through some rough years in American history. I wish I had a room full of his work!
