Simple Patriotic Table Decor
My Simple Patriotic Table Decor created a fun atmosphere to enjoy for the summer season. I shopped my house for pieces and you can too.
We dine at our kitchen table almost every day so that’s the one I always enjoy decorating. We did dine at this Patriotic table most of the summer.
The first thing to do when creating a seasonal tablescape is to shop your home for pieces which may match.
I created some layering by beginning with an everyday vinyl tablecloth on the bottom. It was a grocery store find. Then I placed a square of burlap in the center of the table and then the red fabric place mats.
The dishes are from my cabinet and are used often. Nothing fancy schmancy with this Patriotic table decor because we will be having our meals right here.
It is entirely possible that I may be considered a bit of a dish hoarder but in my defense I love to create seasonal tablescapes! We do eat on all of our dishes and use them for holidays as well.
I thought it would be fun to sit a small dish of something at each place setting. Two settings have Red Hot’s candies with an American flag pick and two have marshmallows with the same pick.
Yes, I did leave the Red Hots sitting out and the grandchildren enjoyed eating them when they visited.
The marshmallows disappeared first. Do you ever think that a marshmallow is good to have around to satisfy a sweet tooth from time to time. Did you know the bag says they are fat free? That makes up for the calories, right!
I love these little vintage Bicentennial High Ball glasses. I picked them up from a thrift store years ago for next to nothing. They have never been used but I enjoy looking at them.
Do you see the inside design on the back side of the glass though the liberty bell on the front? You can’t see that picture on the back of the glass. It’s on the inside for you to view through the Liberty Bell. Isn’t that neat? The back side of the glass pays homage to the Declaration of Independence.
You simply must include a vintage Mason jar in a southern summer tablescape, right?
My Atlas Mason jar is an Estate sale find. It’s tall and narrow making it a perfect vase for red and white paper straws and another small flag.
My husband and I spotted those cute blue bottles at Cracker Barrel last season and just had to have them! They are too cute! I used them in a centerpiece of aqua blue in my dining room.
I made the centerpiece last summer. I know, I didn’t share that craft on the blog but I didn’t take any step by step pictures.
It’s made up of silk carnations and decorated with Dollar Store pinwheels, American flags and Patriotic ribbon. I curled some silver pipe cleaners to add some sparkle. I used a foam insert which is not glued into the galvanized bucket. I picked that bucket up at a yard sale many years ago. Prior to using it for this Patriotic centerpiece, it held potpourri.
My hubby and I have enjoyed the ambiance created by the Red White and Blue Table decor. It’s summer foods season which makes dining more fun too.
I love that you used items you already had. It all came together beautifully, Shirley. Thanks for sharing at Celebrate the USA Party. Pinned and Tweeted.
That is awesome! I really love your tablescape, it’s so festive and pretty. I also love that you didn’t have to buy anything new! Using items you already have makes it really fun and exciting to see how things can be designed differently. Love it!
You did a lovely job on your festive tablescape! The blue milk jugs give the table a wonderful feeling of hospitality and the comfort of casual elegance. I hope you enjoy your 4th of July celebrating with such a lovely setting.
It looks phenomenal! I love that you didn’t need anything new new to put all that together; amazing!
Wow, what you’ve done here looks absolutely amazing!! I don’t think I have the same artistic sense as you do, haha :)) I can use this for some inspiration though, that’s for sure!
What a colourful and fun looking table scape! You did a great job. I particularly love the blue tempered glass bottles. I have a ton of those (which I use for Blog photography) however, I never think to use them as decoration at the table!
Wow! I’m amazed that you are able to create this without buying anything. I love all your patriotic decorations. They are just creative and smart. Now that July 4 is coming, I must keep your blog in mind for inspiration.
That is beautiful and how you created it so frugally is just amazing. I like that you take time to create and also re-use what you have on hand. I also like that you chose to to the table that you regularly eat. Those blue bottles from Cracker Barrel are really nice; they look stylish.
I don’t think I could pull together a table like that for the holidays because yours looks sensational and super festive! I don’t have many red ‘things’ in my home, but I would be able to do all white! That is about all I have with some pops of blue here and there. I always forget about BLT’s – I might have to make those for tomorrow for lunch.
What a beautiful tablescape. I love that you used an eclectic group of items to create this farmhouse style 4th of July decoration. The mismatched plates and burlap material is very much my style. I am definitely going to use this as inspiration for my holiday decorating.
Love the table decor. I try to do things for the holidays but I am not a decorative person at all so I struggle a lot. I always wanted to pull it off but mine looks….horrible.
I love shopping my house and gardens first and foremost and I really love when I don’t have to spend a lot for decor. Your tabletop is so patriotic and so pretty. My 4th of July tabletop is coming out next Monday. It’s one of my favorite holidays and I’m looking forward to celebrating with family and friends.
Yay for decorating with items you already have. It’s so fun to see items in a new way
It looks like a party!!! Love it
