How To Make A Santa Snowman Wreath
- One 12″ Wreath
- One 9″ Wreath
- Yarn of choice
- Santa Hat
- Red Mesh
- Small Christmas bell
- Small piece of white sewing thread and needle
All of my supplies except the yarn are available at the Dollar Store. I selected a really soft yarn intended for baby blankets which I found on sale at Michael’s. I wanted a really white yarn with a soft snowy look.
Begin by wrapping a piece of yarn around the wreath and tying it off. Then it is a matter of wrapping the wreath with the yarn. I found cutting about a 3 ft. piece of yarn worked best to keep wrapping without getting tangles. Simply cut and and tie two pieces together to keep going. I watched a Hallmark Christmas movie while wrapping the two wreaths.
Once the two wreaths were complete I tied them off at the top. Then I trimmed the string left hanging on the large one which will be the snowman’s belly.
Now I placed the two wrapped wreaths together and attached them by using the same yarn wrapped and tied tightly as shown above.
Next I tied Red Mesh around the area where the two wreaths connect to be our Santa Snowman’s scarf. He needed a little Christmas bell so I simply tied a bell through the mesh.
To make the hat fit tight I placed it on the head of the snowman. Then situated it at the angle I wanted and folded over the excess towards the back of the snowman. Then I added about four or five stitches with a needle and thread to hold the excess in place.
This was a really easy DIY Santa Snowman Wreath project which can be made in just a couple of hours. The longest time involved is wrapping the yarn and I suggest watching a good Christmas movie during that process!
