Our Thanksgiving Pilgrim Creamer Bottle Kids Craft comes from the imagination of two of my favorite children. Two of our grandchildren enjoy ‘playing’ in my craft room when they visit and I love allowing them to use their imagination!
On this particular visit I gave them carte blanche in my craft room with the exception of the empty creamer bottle.
I had a small collection of empty clean creamer bottles just waiting to be upcycled in my craft room. I have seen such fun ways to repurpose an empty creamer bottle like this one I did a while back.
All of the colorful craft supplies in my little craft supply were available for their use, fuzzy pom poms, felt in many colors, googly eyes, buttons, ribbon, paint, glue, fabric scraps, craft paper in many colors and all sorts of fun little odds and ends for crafting.
Their instructions were to use the creamer bottles and clean up your mess. I desperately wanted to give them a few ideas but I mostly just wanted to see what they would do on their own. With Christmas so close, I was expecting to see snowmen! They really blew me away with their Pilgrim craft though!
- Empty clean coffee creamer bottles
- Felt squares
- White paper towel
- Googly eyes
- Popsicle sticks
- Black acrylic paint
There are no step by step photos because I was forbidden to view the creative process and banished from my craft room!
After a little consultation between the siblings, they agreed upon making Pilgrims since Thanksgiving was near and they got to work.
The black paint was used to paint the Popsicle sticks since those were originally red and green. The rest is mostly a cut and glue process. No patterns and no templates. They just made it up as they went along.
Their Pilgrim hats are the painted Popsicle sticks glued to a piece of black felt cut round. Clever idea in my opinion. I do actually have some white fabric they could have used with permission but that never crossed their mind since there is always a roll of paper towels in the craft room and they used that for the inside of their Pilgrim coats! I love that so much!
Once they revealed their Thanksgiving Pilgrim Creamer Bottle craft to me, I knew they deserved to have something fun inside like candy corn!
Of course I had them share the story of Thanksgiving with me. I honestly think that may have been their favorite part. Their school teachers would have been quite proud in that moment!
Their Thanksgiving Pilgrim Creamer Bottle Craft is proudly displayed on the mantle at their home and it makes me smile each time I visit and get to see them!
I can’t wait to see what these two will be crafting next! It will happen soon for the Christmas season and I will be sure to share with you. In the meantime, scroll down and check out some of their previous creations from the craft room.
