Equipment
Crockpot
large skillet
wooden spoon
Ingredients
1 28 oz.. can tomato puree
2 14.5 oz. cans of your favorite diced tomatoes
1 14.5 oz. can of Black Beans, do not drain
1lb.Ground sausage
1lb.Ground turkey or ground beef
1/4cupChili powder
1tsp.salt
Optional: 1 medium onion diced
Instructions
With the crockpot set to high, pour all of the tomato products and the black beans into the pot and stir. Cover with lid while you prepare the meat and seasonings.
While the bean mixture is heating up, cook the meats. In a large skillet, brown and drain the sausage and the ground turkey. I brown them separately but you can cook them together if you like.
Now add the cooked meat and seasonings into the Crockpot and stir well into the tomato and bean mixture.
Turn the Crockpot down to low and allow to simmer for 6 to 8 hours. Once the Chili is done, give it a good stir before serving.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
If you want more juice in your Chili, add Chicken broth until you reach your desired consistency. You can use water, but it doesn’t add the flavor that chicken broth does.
