We Interrupt This Blog For A New Baby!

Sharing is caring!

We interrupt this blog for a new baby! It’s not MY baby, the little fella is my new great nephew. Glad we cleared that up! You know that old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”, well I am gladly a part of the village.

Elijah Edin Bradford announcement

My niece, Brenda and her husband Joey welcomed Elijah Edin Bradford on February 18th, 9:31 am weighing in at 8 lb.. 9 oz. He made a grand entrance with a last minute emergency caesarian delivery due to being transverse. They (whoever ‘they’ are) say that we learn something new everyday. Well I learned about transverse babies this week! Transverse basically means  the baby is sideways rather than head down and is a guarantee for a caesarian delivery. We had a few intense moments since this was discovered late in labor but all is well now and that is all that matters.

I have the pleasure of keeping Elijah’s two big siblings at my house until Mom and baby go home. Carter is 12, almost 13 he would say. Ellie will be 2 in a few weeks. Being a grandmother, I love keeping the little ones and having fun with them.

Like all toddlers, Ellie plays professionally. She loves to push around her little grocery cart full of groceries and play with baby dolls. She is talking more and more and learning new things daily. I made this fun sensory activity for her which she loved. I found the idea on Pinterest and have it pinned to my Home and Schooling Board. She is learning to say colors so we worked on matching colors correctly with the correct word. With a little coaching, she placed the objects back into the correct cups while repeating the color names. He favorite color to say seems to be yellow right now.

Carter is a homeschool student and I very much enjoy being the homeschool czar. Ask him, he will tell you how much I appear to love cracking the whip. He is a good student which makes the whole home school process much easier. He is an even better big brother who Ellie loves dearly. She calls him Bubba and he just melts and does whatever she wants.

My two girls are both grown and married. My oldest, Tresa,  has 5 children of her own. She runs her household like a well oiled machine. My husband and I stop the presses when we are keeping children. It’s really just so funny that we focus so much attention on the children and seem to have no ability whatsoever to keep up with regular mundane household tasks when there are children in the house.. Last night, Ellie was asleep by 8:15 and I was right behind her by 8:30!

Hopefully, I will return to regularly scheduled blogging next week. This week is all about family.

And now unto the baby….Such a little cutie. Congratulations to your family and I love the collage of the little guy. And yes, kiddos do take so much of you – and they put everything on hold!

  3. Congrats on your new great nephew! He’s adorable! Sounds like you are having loads of fun helping out with the little ones. A support system is so important and you are correct, family first (after God, of course). I had the grands for an overnight visit Monday so that their parents could go out for a belated Valentine’s Day date. It’s always a joy keeping up with the kids. Have fun spoiling Elijah!! He’s precious!

We enjoying hearing from you!
